Reid: Failures on both sides of the football

Andy Reid took his normal approach after an Eagles loss, saying on Monday at his day-after news conference that he takes the blame and that he "needs to put players in better positions."

"All in all, we obviously need to do a better job," Reid said after the Eagles' 27-6 loss at Arizona on Sunday. "I need to do a better job as a head football coach. It's my responsibility if there's failures on both sides of the football. That obviously comes back to the head football coach. Getting your team prepared is important, so I take full responsibility for that.

"We need to coach better, we need to prepare better and we need to play better. We played a good football team and one of the things we've talked about  ... is you cannot turn the football over against a good football and expect to win."

About injuries, Reid said Fletcher Cox had migranes during the game. "He has a history of those," Reid said. Akeem Jordan has a hamstring strain. Riley Cooper (collarbone) will get checked. King Dunlap "is getting better with a hamstring strain," Reid said. "If we had a practice today, he wouldn't practice."

Reid also said Jeremy Maclin (hip contusion) is making progress.

Reid also said he was sticking with Mike Vick at quarterback.

The redneck from Alabama along with the thug punk Kelce, gimp kneed and all, will be across the street again threatening paying customers when they should be punkin Lousydarious Bell.

Reid is an idiot for sticking with Vick. Foles can do no worse! You can't stink it up any more that the last 3 Vick performances! 3 pass plays from the one yard line!!! I now time was running down but they had time for at least 1 run there. You get what you get Andy! You lost me!

Offensive line. The coach can't protect the QB on the field. The coach can't block for the running backs. Mike Vick must dream of what it is like to still be standing on your feet at the end of a play.

As long as Reid is pass happy with Vick as a QB turnover machine they will lose the next 4 games. I see a 2 and 5 record coming up. They got lucky to win the first two games with 12 turnovers. Just think... we should have a new coach next year that has a chance to turn this team around because Big Red couldn't win the SB here in 14 years!

I saw part of the game....wow! Twenty sacks and the QB is to blame? The question I have asked over the years is why an ex-lineman can't establish a first class line? That game obviously showed too many deficiencies.

How long is Lurie going to allow this bumbling fool to spout this line which fans no longer believe. He's been doing this tap dance at his Monday news conferences for 14 years. After the 2004 Super Bowl loss his patter began to fall on deaf ears. Lurie needs to dump him in 2013. The next 2 weeks (Giants and Steelers) are likely losses. Even Detroit in game 6 may beat the Eagles. At best after Detroit they should be 3-3 when the hard part of the schedule begins. The only week that looks good right now is the Bye week.

Check the standings - this team is 2-1. No footnotes like "should be 0-3." The 49ers lost to the Vikings. Do you think their fans are ready to throw the ropw over the beam? Expect a big turnaround and a W against the Giants. They may not be a SB contender but they will win 10-11 games. Check my sign-on - the Bills are also 2-1, but no playoffs since last century. Bills have had probably 6-7 coaches and even more QBs during the Reid - McNabb/Vick era. Be careful what you widh for.

In the early days, when AR did and said the exact same things, I thought..."well, he doesn't have a lot of experience as a head coach, we all make mistakes." After thirteen years though...yikes. I don't know of many jobs where you can get away with this over and over and over...and get paid lots o' money. It really is time for a change, not because they lost a game but because of how they lost this game...again.

Failure on both sides of the ball, and right in front of the players' bench.

bambi andy with the same old excuses for the same stupid pnalties and the same faults in O & D. It is reminiscent of "we are all men" idiocy of rich kotite, or Joe Kuharik blaming "fringe plays". Andy, this is your poor coaching and preparation. Please Mr. Lurie fire bambi andy!

All of this talk means nothing. Sellouts every home game, merchandise sales, etc. etc. is the game plan. The stands will fill each game regardless of who's the coach, quarterback, etc. The entire NFL operates in this way. The hipe is all for the fans, and means nada./

The biggest failure was with Andy....same sh.t, no time outs left, confusion at critical times, and poor game planning. The only one Andy out coaches is Andy. Run and gun, without the run and only a small gun.
