Reid: Failures on both sides of the football

Andy Reid took his normal approach after an Eagles loss, saying on Monday at his day-after news conference that he takes the blame and that he "needs to put players in better positions."

"All in all, we obviously need to do a better job," Reid said after the Eagles' 27-6 loss at Arizona on Sunday. "I need to do a better job as a head football coach. It's my responsibility if there's failures on both sides of the football. That obviously comes back to the head football coach. Getting your team prepared is important, so I take full responsibility for that.

"We need to coach better, we need to prepare better and we need to play better. We played a good football team and one of the things we've talked about  ... is you cannot turn the football over against a good football and expect to win."

About injuries, Reid said Fletcher Cox had migranes during the game. "He has a history of those," Reid said. Akeem Jordan has a hamstring strain. Riley Cooper (collarbone) will get checked. King Dunlap "is getting better with a hamstring strain," Reid said. "If we had a practice today, he wouldn't practice."

Reid also said Jeremy Maclin (hip contusion) is making progress.

Reid also said he was sticking with Mike Vick at quarterback.

The Eagles lost in all 4 phases of the game.

....and there's only 3 phases to the game, unfortunately.

Coach Mea Culpa blows another one. I'm so tired of this schtick.

When Andy (eventually) leaves the Eagles, his going away presents will be a rear view mirror (to enhance his hindsight) and a watch (so he can work on time management)

how about we act like rational human beings and not go from worshipping the team one week, to tearing it down the next. If this is how you feel, fine..but atleast dont come around pretending to be a fan when they win games. of course, its only fair to criticize and point out what went wrong after a game like yesterday...but we can criticize, in a respectful manner while not acting like its the end of the world after a week 3 loss. Guess what? we always lose that game...so do 80% of the teams from the east coast that travel to arizon...same thing hapens when you go to seatle, oakland, san fran...I hate it as much as anyone, but its qa reality...no matter how good your team is, you will lose some of those games during a course of a season. it drives me nuts, but its a reality, and definitely shouldnt come to a surprise.

I always defend reid, but i always keep it real. He did a terrible job yesterday. The game plan gave us no chance whatsoever. With Macklin out and a new Oline going on the road...this gameplan really needed to be run heavy, and heavy dose of 2TE sets. Harbor has been nothing but reliable. this was the time to lean on him and shady! Terribler job by andy...far from the endf of the world. lets go get ready to play the giants!

I will not, will not john-g-i-am. They were on their way to breaking the 1974 Dolphins record. Now they're going to be 2-14. Reid and Vick were amazing overcoming all that adversity. Now they are idiots. I'm an Eagles fan. It's what I do...

It was embarrassing watching that game yesterday. They were totally un-prepared tot play and Reid is absolutely right when he says he takes the blame. When is Lurie going to hear that enough to hold him responsible?

The O line was a problem last year. It wasn't taken care of in the off season so now here we are. Any team with a good defense can pummel Vick and shut down the offense. Kolb totally blows and he beat us. It was so pathetic to watch.

Andy needs a KISS...Keep It Simple, Stupid.
    1. QB getting killed, run the ball!
    2. #11 killing you, double, triple cover him, whatever. Make someone other than the only real threat they have beat you.
    Its not rocket science!

philly reporters for the most part are terrible. like is it too much to ask one reporter to ask the simple question., which is pretty much the most important question: "anbdy, when you guys were doing the gameplan, with a new Oline on the road, and Macklin being hurt...did anyone suggest relying on Harbor this game who has been nothing but reliable and playing mostly in 2TE sets...with an emphasis on running the ball? I want to know if anyone in that novacare complex suggested 2te game plan!

Yeah and how the hell didn't Reid just kick the field goal. They tell Vick to play smart and throw it away and then take a huge risk and give the other team 7. Unbelievable!

How were they not prepared for the Arizona pass rush. It looked like they weren't even ready for it. I just couldn't believe how many times Vick got killed. I felt like I was out of my body when I was watching the game.

Ok then, it's gotta be Reid's parents fault for raising such a stupid kid. Why doesn't he just tape the same press conference and play it after every loss....he always says the same stuff. He takes the blame but does not do anything about it.
