Bob Cooney filling in for your Eagletarians at Lehigh:

Shawn Andrews is scheduled to meet with his doctor in Arkansas today in what could pave the way for his return to the Eagles. In the first public comments from the Eagles organization since Andrews revealed his bout with depression to the Daily News, coach Andy Reid said:

"That's what he's gonna do (see a doctor today). It's a personal situation. I know everybody wants to know. I know Shawn came out publicly and gave you guys a statement here and there and that's what it is. We're working with him on it. There's a personal side to things. You've got to take care of business and that's what he's doing right now. It's very important that he does that and gets that part of his life taken care of."

When asked if Andrews is being fined the $15,000 a day for missing camp, an agitated Reid responded: "I haven't even gone there," and declined to discuss the matter further.

Following this morning's brief walkthrough, Reid announced how playing time will be split for tomorrow night's first preseason game at Pittsburgh.

Reid said the first and second units will each play 1 1/2 quarters and that the third unit would play the fourth quarter.

The coach also announced that newly acquired cornerback Asante Samuel will not play. Samuel has been battling a sore hamstring. That means the starting defensive backs will be Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard.

Other notables who won't see action are defensive end Victor Abiamiri, and defensive tackles Kimo von Oelhoffen and Montae Reagor.

Wide receiver Reggie Brown has a strained Achilles' tendon and probably will not see action. Reid said Greg Lewis would probably be the No. 2 receiver with the first team alongside other starter Kevin Curtis.

Hey LBoogie - Greg Lewis caught a TD pass in the Super Bowl and two against NE last year. What other Eagles' receiver can say that?

DeShawn Jackson is already the team's 2nd best receiver. Don't delay the inevitable, he should be starting.

Nobody called Greg Lewis "G-Lew" until Anthony Gargano did. Nothing like getting a nickname from someone whose nickname was a joke

Cant believe how people are sooo down on lewis. Hes not the reason we have losing seasons. I agree, he wont win you a bowl as a starting receiver, however, Id take him as a 4th all day. For those who actually watch the games, hes the one constantly catching big 3rd and long passes for first downs. Its not like hes out there making mistakes, thats why hes still on the team. Idiot fans

Les BowenLes Bowen has covered the Eagles for the Daily News since 2002. Before that, he spent nearly 13 years covering the Flyers. It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. He, his wife Barbara, and their two sons live in Haddon Township, New Jersey.

For the last 10 years, he’s been a selector for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A native of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Wilkes University, Domo came to the Daily News from the Fort Worth (Tx.) His first beat at the Daily News actually wa s boxing, which he covered just long enough to lose two sports coats to blood spatter before moving on to football.
