The Eagles regained wideout Reggie Brown for Wednesday's practice but were without tight end L.J. Smith as they began preparations for Sunday's visit to Seattle.

Brown, who has missed the last two games with a groin injury, apparently will play this week, giving Donovan McNabb a full complement of wideouts for the first time this season.

Eagles coach Andy Reid said right guard Shawn Andrews, who underwent back surgery last week, was to have a checkup Wednesday with his surgeon, Dr. Robert Watkins.

Other highlights from Wednesday's festivities at NovaCare: Asked about Seattle linebacker Lofa Tatupu, Reid noted that the Eagles want to "make sure we know where he's at." No kidding. Tatupu intercepted A.J. Feeley three times last season in the loss that might have ended the Birds' illusions of being a playoff contender.

Reid said he would not press Smith to return, that he would rely on medical assessments. "I understand that yourThis fellow would agree with Andy Reid. In fact, he might be calling plays. brain is fairly important," he said. (Really, that's what he said. With kind of a smile at the end, like, "I can't believe I just said that.")

Reid also critiqued McNabb's creaky touchdown dance Sunday after the QB's first TD run since 2006, "if you consider that a dance."

Ooooohhh. Snap.

McNabb seemed to agree he was not in top hoofing form. "I haven't been in the end zone for a while," he said.

Brian Westbrook was asked about the possibility that the Eagles might look past the 2-5 Seahawks to next week's home encounter with the 6-1 Giants."We can't have any lapses" after losing three winnable games already, he said.

Oh, and Reid once again voiced his support for the Phils, though he did not repeat his Monday guarantee of a World Series victory. "They're right there," he said.

LJ is just more injury prone dead weight that the Eagles are carrying...they should package LJ with G LEW and ship them both off for a reliable water boy.

About The Daily News' Eagles Blog
Les BowenLes Bowen has covered the Eagles for the Daily News since 2002. Before that, he spent nearly 13 years covering the Flyers. It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. He, his wife Barbara, and their two sons live in Haddon Township, New Jersey.

Paul DomowitchPaul Domowitch has been with the Daily News since 1982. He has spent most of his 27 years at the paper covering the Eagles and pro football. For the last 10 years, he’s been a selector for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A native of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Wilkes University, Domo came to the Daily News from the Fort Worth (Tx.) Star-Telegram, where he covered some god-awful Texas Ranger baseball teams. His first beat at the Daily News actually wa s boxing, which he covered just long enough to lose two sports coats to blood spatter before moving on to football. Domo and his wife Shelley, a University of Oklahoma grad and very dangerous to be around following a Sooner loss, have been married 29 years and have raised 2 terrific daughters – Allison, 26, a lawyer and graduate of Boston University School of Law; and Amy, 23, who graduated from Clemson and works in marketing and sales for a professional baseball team.
