Within moments of the game ending, cornerback Asante Samuel took to Twitter with this message:
“I should have some good news these next coming days. Time to get to work!”
Meanwhile, in Chicago, the Eagles were among the best teams in the NFL at the start of the season in the red zone, but are now 2-for-10 in the last two games after a 31-26 loss to the Bears.
“We’ve got to make sure we score when we’re given an opportunity,” coach Andy Reid said. “There are going to be games when you don’t have a turnover, you have to keep battling and fighting … When you’re in the red zone you have to score touchdowns against a good team.”
Reid clearly was angry during his postgame press conference after the disappointing loss.
“There is a point where you have to do put your foot down as coaches and players,” Reid said. “That starts with me. I didn’t get it done on my end.”
On the quick turnaround: “We’ve got a Thursday game and we’ve got to learn from this quickly and get it out of our minds … We’ve got to get ourselves in the right frame of mind and go.”
On the defense: “It wasn’t the defense. It was both sides of the ball, it was coaching, it was special teams, it was my responsibility.”
On Michael Vick: “We all can better. He’s part of that. We all can do better.”
On the Bears’ defense: “Every first and second down in the second half, they brought extra pressure. It started in the second quarter. We need to do a little better job all around.”
On the absence of Asante Samuel: “Next guy that comes in, he’s got to play.”
On the decision to kick field goals late in the game: “I thought that was the right thing to do. I didn’t want to come out of there without the points.”
Also, the Eagles came out of the game with no injuries.

This looks like the Eagles get really content with themselves, once they start winning a few games. So they stick with what was successful and that makes them predictable for any diligent opponent. That's what the Bears did, analyze and react to what they saw. Now without Assante it was enough to win and make Cutler look like the next Joe Montana. And as all the names have been mentioned in these comments, these Eagles players are good, but not stellar, so they can and will be figured out as soon as the coaches stop being innovative.— AachenEagle- It was the defense,plain and simple.Bad tackling,bad covering,no adjustments.They had no answer for a simple roll-out by cutler.Was stewert bradley playing?This team needs a real middle linebacker.— schmitty71
- McCoy avg'd 6.5 yards per carry, but with 1st and goal, its pass-pass-pass. Reid and Morningway (1-31 with Detroit?) are the worst play calling and game managing combo around. Kicking a field goal from the 3 when down that many points is idiotic, like taking a time out for a 3rd and 19 play. He's a great drafter/player evaluator, good game scheme guy, but he flat out SUCKS at calling/managing a game. And the O-Coordinator's resume should have kept him OUT of this job...— Otis100
