Sav Saves 10-Point Turnaround

Updated: Sav Rocca just ran Corey Webster out of bounds near midfield with no time remaining in the first half, keeping the Eagles ahead of the Giants, 13-3. Rocca was in pursuit after Webster picked up Terrell Thomas' block of David Akers' 42-yard field goal attempt with four second remaining.

Thomas had just ripped a possible touchdown catch away from Jeremy Maclin, so that was a darned good sequence for him.

Overall, the half was defined by missed Eagles opportunities. They could have a much larger lead, the kind of thing that often comes back to bite teams, as it bit the Birds last month at Tennnessee.

At halftime, Michael Vick is 10 for 19 for 130 yards, with a couple drops, including a sure TD by Jason Avant. Eli Manning is 8 for 14 for just 63 yards and a pick.

Earlier: Brandon Graham ripped a fumble from Ahmad Bradshaw, recovered by Asante Samuel at the New York 23, but the Birds settled for a field goal. Then Samuel jumped a route, with the same result, after the Eagles took over at the Giants' 13. DeSean Jackson couldn't come up with a low catch on the first series, Jason Avant flat-out dropped a ball all alone, for the first time in many, many games, in the end zone on the second drive. It's 13-3 Eagles with 3:11 left in the first half.

Earlier: Giants kick a field goal at the end of a 14-play, 74-yard drive, it's 7-3 with 9:06 left in the first half.

Earlier: The Eagles took a 7-0 lead when Michael Vick broke a quarterback draw outside for a 4-yard TD. The run capped a 68-yard, 13-play drive.

The Giants are trying diligently to run the ball, which the Eagles probably appreciate, because so far New York has been much better throwing it. Shawn Andrews took a holding penalty on this drive, a play after a William Beatty hold went uncalled.

Earlier: Shawn Andrews, the former Eagles Pro Bowler who has come back from two years of back trouble for the Giants this season, is active for tonight's game. Andrews, who plays left tackle for New York, didn't practice all week, and Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Friday he wasn't sure Andrews would start tonight, even if cleared from his latest back problem. The New York Daily News Tweeted that Andrews will start.

For the Birds, returner Jorrick Calvin paid the price for his pair of rain-slick bobbles last week. He is iactive, as are RB Chad Hall, CB Trevard Lindley, OL Austin Howard, DE Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, OL Reggie Wells, and TE Garrett Mills. Mike Kafka is the third QB.

Nick Cole will start at RG.

Stay tuned.
