More on Trotter

POSTED: Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 10:43 AM

Even as it appears more likely that the Eagles will sign linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, team president Joe Banner was not about to reveal the team's intentions.

At a media event this morning at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Banner declined to comment on Trotter's situation. All he would say is, "We've worked him out."

Trotter has now worked out twice for the Eagles, once yesterday, as we documented here on Eagletarian and in today's Daily News.

Banner and Phillies president David Montgomery attended the event to announce a joint partnership involving a fundraising initiative for breast cancer research. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

If signed, Trotter would be the largest linebacker on the roster and would help the Eagles defend the run. The Eagles allowed 120-plus rushing yards just six times in 19 games last season, but four of those six came against division opponents.

More to come ...

That is the only reason they would sign Trotter they need a leader, to bad they got rid of Dawkins, sometimes Reid isn't as smart as he thinks he is

The problem was Trotter's knees. He's only 32 and had the knee re-done in 2008. Doubt he's at football speed but he needed to be in shape and "knee ready" before he could even think about working out. 1 thing at a time. If the workouts went well, Good Luck to him. The Eagles aren't afraid to let you go if you can't play.

If we had Dawk, Trot would not even be on the radar screen.

I see a much stronger relationship between Bradley being injured and Trotter's workout than Dawkins leaving and Trotter's workout.

In response to sdffa11 - I love the idiots that post here and say Trotter can't play now. Like you watched him work out at the Eagles facility to see what shape he's in. He was injured - if he's healthy now he can play. 32 isn't that old. Look at Brooking, Bulluck, Farrior - all still performing at high levels and older than Trotter is.

jaydes-Dawk can cover? Really? Did you actually watch him last year? Great, great eagle. I Miss him. But he has been a liability in coverage for years. lets be real.

That means that there is someone on the roster that must go. So long to Jeff Garcia.

I don't care if Trotter can run a marathon in 2 hrs/10 minutes. He can't be in "football" shape after a 2 yr layoff.
