Minicamp begins

The Eagles begin a three-day mandatory minicamp at the NovaCare Complex.

Minicamp begins

The newest Eagles are expected to arrive today at the NovaCare Complex. The first of five practice sessions over three days is set for tomorrow morning.

The biggest question, of course, is whether Lito Sheppard shows up, given his current situation.

To get a sense of the Eagles' offseason, we took a look at the minicamp roster and pulled the names of the players who will be donning the green helmet with wings for the first time.

Of course, not all of these players will still be around when the preseason ends, but it gives you a gauge of what the Birds were trying to do and what areas they targeted. And, the offseason is not over. The Eagles could certainly add a player after the June 1 salary cap casualities or make a trade.

Here is what we found, looking at free-agent acquisitions, the draft and undrafted players signed earlier this week ...

Kyle Arrington, CB
Rocky Boiman, LB
Lorenzo Booker, RB
Bam Childress, WR
Chris Clemons, DT
Jed Collins, FB
Quintin Demps, CB
Franklin Dunbar, OT
King Dunlap, OT
Mike Gibson, OT
Terrell Golden, WR
Frantz Hardy, WR
DeSean Jackson, WR
Jamal Jones, WR
Dan Klecko, FB
Trevor Laws, DT
Joe Mays, LB
Shaheer McBride, WR
Richmond McGee, P
Mike McGlynn, G
Justin Roland, LB
Asante Samuel, CB
A.J. Schable, DE
Bryan Smith, DE
Andy Studebaker, LB
Kris Wilson, TE

The list lends itself to the obvious question: Have they done enough to retool the roster with what they already have to at least return to the playoffs? We hear there might be some desire among the fan base for a wide receiver, but it's only been a quiet murmur ...
