Donovan McNabb took to his Yardbarker blog to offer his support for Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson and former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, who was released from prison today and will serve the rest of his sentence confined to his Virginia home. McNabb titled the post, "My Thoughts on a Couple of Friends."

My thoughts and prayers go out to Jim Johnson as he battles through another round of chemotherapy to deal with cancer. Jim is one of the toughest men I’ve come across and although he has a tough battle ahead, no one is going to fight harder.

I am happy that Michael Vick has served his time and will now be afforded the opportunity to move on with his life. I’m sure he will continue to be remorseful and will learn from his experiences. Hopefully he will have the opportunity to continue his dream of playing professional football.

Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley is nothing if not outspoken.

During an interview with SI.com about life on the road in the NFL, Cooley managed to take two jabs at Philly and its fans.

SI: What's your least favorite city to visit?

Chris Cooley: Philly. I really don't like Philly. I got a cheesesteak the first time I went there, but other than that, there's just nothing exciting about Philly.

SI: Which city has the most rabid fans?

Chris Cooley: Philly. We got eggs thrown at our bus when we came into town last season.

Throwing eggs at a NFL team bus. That is excellent, seriously. Whats the line on the age of the culprit? 35? Love this town.

Cooley was born in Wyoming and spent his high school and college years in Utah, talk about exciting. I guess the Tabernacle in Philly isn't big enough for him. He then married a Redskins Cheerleader as soon as he got there, probably the first woman he's ever met that didn't want to have 15 children. That interview also mentions his most important item when traveling is his laptop, no wonder he doesn't have time to find anything exciting in the city.

Two jabs? In my mind calling Philly fans the most rabid is a compliment. One jab one compliment. Can't get too mad.

chris cooley stinks and apparently has a small unit, since he likes to take nekked pictures of himself and post them to the internet. Nothing exciting in Philly huh? Hey nit wit, ever take a history class? Our country was only founded here. we only won the world series last year. I hate it when peope say they came to Philly and got a cheese steak and that was the extent of their visit. learn a little more about the city and people before you make stupid remarks you over rated moron.

If someone threw eggs at me I'd probably slam them too. But now he may have to watch out for bottles and batteries...

I really wish McNabb would keep his mouth shut about M. Vick. The dude's a barbaric convict, who enjoys watching two animals tear each other up (and occasionally execute them), all the while hosting dog fights, betting on the outcome and acting like this stuff is acceptable behavior; while hiding this activity from decent human beings and the authorities. He should be treated like any ex-con when he is done with his sentence, passed over for decent employment and forced to endure public ridicule for his deeds.

Dudman00....shut up! McWhiner is sympathetic to Vick which is more than I can say for you execution-happy fans! Mike Vick has served his sentence and has apologized over and over again! Let it go! When he gets back to the NFL and starts dominating again, let's see what you haters have to say then. Ok, ok, he f'd up with the dog fights. Look how many rappers and such do the same thing and nobody seems to care when they do it! Or, how about the fans of the UFC? Its since been cleaned up but when it first started out, combatnats were allowed to gouge eyes, ears and hook mouths in this "sport". Leave Vick alone. he's served his debt to society. now let him live his life in peace!

I would hate to be Cooley coming to Philly this year, might get stoned! McNabb, what a fool. Anybody who supports MV should keep it to themselves. MV is pure evil and so are his supporters. He is a POS.

Cooley didn't rip Philly, as the headline claims. He answered questions honestly. A lot of people would give similar answers. Philly's a good city. When it comes to sports, few teams want to play here. Even our own players comment on the rabid fans.

It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. He, his wife Barbara, and their two sons live in Haddon Township, New Jersey. E-mail Les at bowenl@phillynews.com and follow him on Twitter.

A native of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Wilkes University, Domo started his career in Texas, working first for the Midland Reporter-Telegram (1976-78), and then for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where he covered some god-awful Texas Ranger baseball teams. His first beat at the Daily News actually was boxing, which he covered just long enough to lose 2 sports coats to blood spatter before moving on to football.
