DONOVAN MCNABB

On whether offseason changes were to his satisfaction: It wasn't to my liking. It's hard to put pressure on these young guys coming in. You wouldn't throw them into the fire like that. I think it's good that we have the (other) guys back healthy and we all can get out there, and those young guys can kind of contribute where they can. But for the veterans, it's an important season for us.

Disappointed you didn't get Randy Moss or Chad Johnson or one of the other top wideouts?: It's not about me being disappointed or excited. The guys that we have made plays for us last year. People forget that Kevin Curtis had 1,000 receiving yards. It's only the second time that's happened since I've been here.We showed signs in our passing game. We just need to be consistent. I said (I wanted) playmakers. I didn't say receivers. I said guys who could come in and make plays for us. We brought in Asante (Samuel), who led league in interceptions two years ago.

Concerned that the sheppard situation will be a distraction?: I hope it isn't. I understand Lito's situation. It's a tough situation. When they bring somebody in at your position, obviously you have questions. As a teammate and a friend, I hope things work out well for him.

Your physical condition?: There were big strides last year. I got more comfortable as the season went on. And I was able to do a lot of different things that I was used to doing.

Addition of a home run threat punt returner: I think it will be big for us to get some good field position and start the offense in the right position where he can just drive the field.

Can you win the Super Bowl with this team?: I think we can win it every year. I'm going to give all that I have. It all starts with me, and hopefully it will trickle down to everyone else. If we put it all together and be consistent, we can win a Super Bowl with this team.

On Reggie Brown: I think Reggie can be a great player. I expect him to have a great year this year. Later in the year, he stepped up and made some big plays for us.

About The Daily News' Eagles Blog
Les BowenLes Bowen has covered the Eagles for the Daily News since 2002. Before that, he spent nearly 13 years covering the Flyers. It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. He, his wife Barbara, and their two sons live in Haddon Township, New Jersey.

Paul DomowitchPaul Domowitch has been with the Daily News since 1982. He has spent most of his 27 years at the paper covering the Eagles and pro football. For the last 10 years, he’s been a selector for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A native of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Wilkes University, Domo came to the Daily News from the Fort Worth (Tx.) Star-Telegram, where he covered some god-awful Texas Ranger baseball teams. His first beat at the Daily News actually wa s boxing, which he covered just long enough to lose two sports coats to blood spatter before moving on to football. Domo and his wife Shelley, a University of Oklahoma grad and very dangerous to be around following a Sooner loss, have been married 29 years and have raised 2 terrific daughters – Allison, 26, a lawyer and graduate of Boston University School of Law; and Amy, 23, who graduated from Clemson and works in marketing and sales for a professional baseball team.
