Eagles training camp is less than 3 weeks away. The regular-season is 9 weeks and 3 days away. It’s Sept. 13 at Carolina at 1 p.m.

By the 10th game, when the Eagles are at the Bears, Eagles fans likely will know where there team stands in the NFC East race and playoffs chase. It likely will be a pivotal game as the Eagles’ playoffs hopes unfold.

It will be a huge game for Chicago native Donovan McNabb.

McNabb will oppose new Bears quarterback Jay Cutler in the Nov. 22 game at Soldier Field. Cutler came to Chicago from the Denver Broncos in the offseason.

And according to the Chicago Tribune, the McNabb family can't wait.

“Both sides are really going to have a great time,” Sam McNabb, Donovan’s father, said to the Tribune. “It’s going to be an opportunity to see two good teams go at it and entertain the people probably more than they anticipated."

Sam McNabb, who lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife, Wilma, will host his fifth annual football minicamp July 17 and 18 at Mt. Carmel High for high school juniors and seniors, according to the Tribune. Donovan McNabb played at Mt. Carmel before moving onto Syracuse.

"I am a pretty avid Bears fan, up until the time they play the Eagles," Sam McNabb told the Tribune. "That's when I have to switch my allegiance and go with Philadelphia."

I think you dummies did what you always seem to do, you missed the intent of this article, it was an article promoting Mr. McNabb's football camp. Why it is in the Philly paper, simple it has a mention of the game between Philly and Chicago. When do you group of misfits stop hating and showing your true selves. "City of Brotherly Love My A--" more like city of bigots and hypocrites.

The other QB storyline is clearly the development of Kevin Kolb. With no 4th QB currently on the roster, Kolb is going to see a LOT of time both in camp and in the preseason. The former second round pick is entering his 3rd season and fans are expecting to see progress from him. In very limited time last year in tough situations he struggled... However, a strong camp and preseason could go a long way in building the fan's confidence in him. He could cement his future as this team's starter after McNabb, make himself valuable trade bait, or he could edge his way toward "bust" status. This is a big preseason for Kevin Kolb.

How dare they host a mini-camp for high school kids? The very idea! It doesn't get any lower than that.

This isn't news....it's a blog...a.k.a. interesting tidbits to entertain our insatiable appetite. Want news? Newsflash! There is no news right now. Training camp hasn't even started. Man I'm getting tired of the "This ain't news" crowd. This is the Eagles blog, not CNN. Figure it out.

They better thicken the turf at Soldier Field so it can take the passes that 5 will be throwing into it.

they played each other in chicago last year, (i was there and loved chicago), but not sure why this is news-worthy. it'd be one thing is they played at his hometown in an afc city which happens only once every 8 years meaning it could be just once in a guy's career but we have to stop giving every single word his parents say sooo much attention. its unhealthy.

"McNabb family can't wait for Bears game" This is news? I'm trying to think of a pro athlete who's mommy and daddy got more press in 10+ years...and why is there STILL 3 or 4 articles on McNair for the Eagles section? Weak...

ummm... they beat the birds with Kyle orton or groooosssman, I think Cutler is an upgrade and the bears could be decent if they get a WR.

Last year's game was brutal to see in person. Offensive line was brutal and couldn't get any type of push and not having Westbrook hurt big time. That should have been another W for the Win/Loss column.

We owe the Bears big time. Two years ago, Sean Considine and the rest of the defense couldn't stop them from scoring at games end. Last year we couldn't punch it in from the one yd line. This time around, we've got to punish them.

It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying.
