BETHLEHEM -- If there is one thing Andy Reid likes, it is sticking to a plan. And the Eagles' plan when training camp started was to practice through tomorrow, hold a walkthrough-like "mock game" Wednesday, then say goodbye to Lehigh for another year.

So it was more than mildly surprising after this morning's practice, when the Eagles announced that Tuesday's morning practice would be the last at Lehigh, that the team would then break camp and take the day off Wednesday, before traveling to Pittsburgh for Thursday's preseason encounter. Camp resumes at NovaCare this weekend.

"We made the bossman happy," corner Asante Samuel observed. "Hard work pays off. He likes the way we've been working out there, competing and executing the things the coaches have been putting in."

Also, it's really, really wet, with the skies not scheduled to clear until Wednesday.

Obviously, Reid must feel he isn't too far behind in what he's trying to accomplish, even with the roster changing almost daily and the lack of spring work because of the NFL lockout.

"We've definitely worked hard. We're tired," said wideout Riley Cooper, who is having a strong camp. "I'm super-excited. Going back to Philly, get to sleep in my own bed for the first time in, what, 20 days? So I'm ready to go."

Running back LeSean McCoy was on the sideline for the morning practice, in uniform but getting a day off.

Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said the team decided to "back him off just a little bit."

McCoy is not listed on the injury report.

The Eagles hosted their annual Military Day this morning, also a great scene.

Andy Reid stayed on the field about an hour after practice, much of it in a hard rain, talkign to service personnel and signing autographs.

The injury report is unchanged from yesterday. Most notably, right tackle Ryan Harris remains sidelined.

***

Strong practice day for defensive tackle Derek Landri, a late addition who is really getting a chance to show what he can do, with Mike Patterson, Antonio Dixon and Trevor Laws all sitting out with injuries.

Kicker Alex Henery seemed to bounce back from his weekend struggles. Henery nailed a 50-yarder with Asanti Samuel raising a loud hubbub, trying to ramp up the "pressure."
