Lurie's worth still at $1 billion

POSTED: Thursday, March 10, 2011, 6:23 PM

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie remains in the billionaires club, according to Forbes' annual rankings of the richest people in the world.

Lurie's net worth is reported as $1 billion, putting him among the 1,210 billionaires in the world (the largest number in the history of the study). Those 1,210 are worth a total of $4.5 trillion, in case you were wondering.

Lurie is tied for 1,140 on the world list this year. Last March, he was tied for No. 937.

Last fall, the 59-year-old Lurie was also on Forbes' list of the 400 richest Americans in a tie at No. 385. He is now No. 411.

Among those listed who are categorized as their primary business largely being related to professional sports, Lurie is tied for 14th.

Seahawks owner Paul Allen is listed as the richest among NFL owners at No. 37 overall with a net worth of $13.5 billion. Of course, Microsoft is largely the reason for that.

He really is not as rich as this would indicate given the value of the Eagles counts for a vast majority of his net worth unlike Paul Allen for example

Jeff will have to do something to raise his wealth. How can he get by on that? Guess Joe and Howie will be doing extra work to get the contracts to favor the Eagles this year. Jeffrey needs the extra money. He has to put food on the table too.

Lurie isen't worth a dime to many people for what he did in signing Dog Killer! He will always have a bunch of losers. Maybe he should get a new job!

Lurie is a great owner. Try's to win every season. Man is counting his pennies but Ill take him over any owner we had. He's a smart owner/businessman.

Sadly he's better than previous owners. Yet money is more important to him than winning. This is why he signs guys on the cheap and doesn't bring in any higher priced FA to help the team win.

    From Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_inequality), it says:

"1,125 Dollar-Billionaires own 4.4 trillion US$. They own 4 times more than the 50% poor(est) people of the world."

Pardon me while I scream in CAPITALS... THEY OWN 4 TIMES MORE THAN HALF THE WORLD ! AND YET, THESE OWNERS FROM THE 1,125 CLUB ARE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO ARE CRYING POOR FOR MORE OF YOUR MONEY !

This whole thing is really disgusting when you think about it. Yuck, I feel gross for even being a fan.
