Kevin Kolb will get his second look at the Kansas City Chiefs, but this time it will be on the road.

Kolb started against Kansas City and New Orleans last season, with both games at the Linc. Kolb’s first road start was last week at Cincinnati and he makes his second road start Friday night. Kolb will have left guard Todd Herremans for the first time in the preseason -- Herremans has been limited before this week after experiencing soreness back in the spring in his repaired left foot.

The Eagles worked with their crowd noise machine during practice to get used to that environment, although Reid acknowledged that Arrowhead Stadium won’t be as loud as for a regular season game. The Chiefs announced yesterday that they have sold enough tickets to avoid a local television blackout.

“Surely there will be some places during the year where this will play off,” Eagles coach Andy Reid said.

Reid said the starters will play three quarters and the second unit will play the fourth quarter. Reid indicated Herremans might not quite take all those snaps.

Tight end Cornelius Ingram did not practice and will undergo an MRI because of swelling in his left calf, arising from fluid drained from his twice-repaired knee Reid called the MRI “precautionary,” but the fact is, Ingram has not been able to run full speed and seems an excellent bet for injured reserve, which would make this his third year in a row without playing any real football.

“I wish Cornelius was out there and his leg wasn’t bothering him,” Reid said. “At that same time, it has given Clay Harbor an opportunity … Every day he takes another step. He’s made some nice plays in practice.” Reid noted that the second tight end plays a maximum of 25 percent of the snaps.

Juqua Parker did not practice with an ankle sprain and will not play. Parker’s starting spot now belongs to rookie Brandon Graham. “JP had an outstanding camp,” Reid said. “This is a good situation. We will use JP in a lot of situations.”

"I'm good with it. Why wouldn't I be?" Parker asked. "You know how business goes ... I think he'll do pretty good there."

Center Nick Cole also did not practice; Mike McGlynn will get his third preseason start at that spot.

David Akers did not practice with a heel injury, but Reid said he is expected to play against Kansas City.

As for center Jamaal Jackson, Reid said, “I like what I see. He’s moving around good. He looks strong for what we have asked him to do. We’re taking it nice and slow.”

Asked whether DeSean Jackson would return punts and Ellis Hobbs on kicks, Reid said, “I’m working through that now.”

Again, the Eagles are setting up situation where Ingram is put on PUP list or IR for the year. I think the Eagles are only going to carry two tight ends due to wanting to go heavy in other areas like WR or OL.

Eagles keep 5 Wr, 2 TE's and 10 o-lineman. Kolb is a STUD and will be better than McNabb down the road. Kolb will be the quaterback that gets philly that superbowl and I love Kolb. Expect Kolb to Jackson all year long.

A fine team in the making! Who knows, we could shatter expectations and be as good as 5-11 this season. See you in about 5 years, Eagles, when you're relevant again.

    Warner to Holt/Bruce-circa '99 ---- Kolb to Jackson/Macklin-2010.

Meanwhile, McNabb continues to whine about Philly, its fans, its coaches and management to whomever will listen. What a strange guy.

He can't help it teebone40, takes after McWaddle who can't seem to keep his mouth shut as he continues to talk about nothing. I notice McGlynn is starting at center............again. Matter of time before Cole comes in to play right guard, MJG is first back-up, Austin second. Andrews, not sure.

Shame about Ingram, he'll be cut. Also - can Akers sit out the rest of preseason? I think we've seen enough from the field goal unit.

Herremans should play about six plays, no more.

Hey there 'lil buddy "briandawkins20"...agree with your numbers, but KK is a STUD??? We really don't know WHAT he is yet!.... And my HOPE is that he survives the year, gets acquainted with the nuances of the (pro) position of QB, and garners faith from his teammates. And THEY get it from HIM. If he can survive what defenses throw at him (and, unfortunately, THROUGH his O-Line!) and can still get some offense going this year, I'll be VERY happy.

While your "working through this" Andy try to to come to terms with your rock bottom ranking using the power running game inside the red zone.

It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent.
