Kolb critical of his play

Kevin Kolb was scathing in his evaluation of his play Friday night. He stayed for extra work after today’s practice, sharpening his skills and his tongue before addressing his last preseason performance before he officially becomes the club’s starting quarterback.

“Obviously, it wasn’t as sharp as we wanted. I saw some things I needed to work on,” Kolb said. “It wasn’t very good by me. And, as a unit, we have to get better. It starts with me.”

In three quarters of work, his most extensive use in the exhibition slate, Kolb was 11-for-25 with an interception and no touchdowns. He also was sacked four times.

The starters are not slated to play Thursday against the Jets in the preseason finale, so Kolb will finish his first preseason as Donovan McNabb’s successor 28-for-53 for 324 yards, with no touchdowns and the interception.

Yes, he’d like to play Thursday: “You always want to go play and get that bad taste out of your mouth.”

That will have to wait a couple of weeks.

I love Kolb and glad he took some extra time to work on his game. The Eagles have so much talent and they will be sharp by the season opener.

we dont want vick. I like vick but in the wildcat formations only. Vick is a turnover machine in this preseason so he has to get that cleared up.

In two years, everyone will forget about Kolb, McNabb, Peyton Manning, and Joe Montana when Kafka gets his chance. Kafka is an all-american boy with great leadership and work ethic. My man.

I don't know if Reid is the "dumbest coach in the NFL", but I do know he's not going to help the Eagles this year. Hopefully, he will be exposed so someone else can come in here and maximize the Eagles' roster.

We don't want Vick! We don't want Vick!! Vick has showed he is just a Wildcat nothing more, he's not smart enuf to run a team, he's not consistent enuf to be counted on to throw drive sustaining 3rd down passes.

Wow! How refreshing that this city finally has a quarterback who takes responsibility for his mistakes and does not blame others. No "poor me" attitude. Makes me wonder how I actually survived the Cunningham and McNabb years. Kolb is a real man and will be a better quarterback and leader than McNabb ever was. We support you Kolb! YOU are our quarterback!

fb-omniscient- - You said Kolb is a real man, I think so too with his boyish good looks, strong arms, and curly hair. I wish I could have him , but you got him first. So fruity.
