Even though he was less than 90 miles from Philadelphia, Knowshon Moreno mentioned only the Giants and the Jets in agreeing with a questioner who asked if it would be nice to play "near home" as a pro.
Depends on how closely you define "near home," I guess. Later in his appearance at the Holmdel, N.J., Modell's store where he worked when he attended Middletown South High, Moreno allowed that playing for the Eagles would be just fine.
"They were asking about the Giants and Jets," said Moreno, a Georgia running back projected as the Eagles' first round pick Saturday in many mock drafts. "Philly would be awesome, too."
Moreno confirmed that the Birds had him in for a "great visit." He said he toured NovaCare and met some players, including fellow Georgia alum Reggie Brown.
Moreno said the predraft whirlwind has been arduous, but he shook his head when a questioner asked if he was weary of the process.
"You still have to have fun," through all the testing and questioning, he said. "If you don't love your job, why do it?"
As for Moreno's skills, asn NFC scout told the Daily News: "He’s a perfect fit for their offense. He’s a great screen guy, which Andy (Reid) likes. I think he’s going to be a great screen runner in this league because he’s got acceleration and great vision. If they get him, that’s a great pick for them. Plus, he’s a combative, competitive guy. He’s got to be the first guy off the ground (after a play). I like that kind of stuff in a guy."
