EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson was in a walking boot and a knee wrapped after the game.
The walking boot was because someone stepped on his foot. The brace was from an attempt to make an acrobatic coach in the first half.
"I'll be alright," Jackson said.
The Eagles said Jackson was checked out for a knee injury and a concussion during the game. Jackson termed the injury a sprained right knee or right ankle.
Jackson had 88 receiving yards and a season-long 51-yard punt return. In his career, Jackson has amassed 278 yards and two touchdowns on 12 punt returns against the Giants (23.2 average).
In addressing his role with the team, Jackson said, "People don't really understand the light I shine on my teammates and the energy I'm able to bring."
He also incurred the ire of coach Andy Reid for a taunting penalty. Reid said they talked after that play to make sure they were on the same page.
Asked if he found Jackson maddening, Reid replied: "When he returns those long punts, I find him quite appealing. I enjoy the kid. He’s got a youthful energy. I enjoy him. Try to be as honest with him as I can. That’s how we go about our business.”
Quarterback Vince Young said Jackson was different this week in the aftermath of his benching against Arizona than he had been in the past.
"When he told y’all in the interview about how he feels, how he is going to be a team player and all these different things, he did that all week in practice," Young said. "He was studying. Then he brought it to the game and you guys saw that."

arrgy, If the giants did not foul on the play, would the catch have counted and the penalty assessed from where he went out of bounds? If so, the rule to replay the down is inconsistent. mikemaddog
Sorry UNCLE CARM-you got it wrong the referee got it correct. You are quoting a kick-off which has and a touchdown which is an entire different set of situations. THe correct ruling is:
Rule 14 Article 9 If there has been a foul by either team during a down and there is a dead ball foul by the other team in the action immediately after the end of the down, it is a double foul, and all rules for enforcement of double fouls apply (see 14-3-1).
There was a foul by the Giants, Jackson caught the ball then went out of bounds and the ball is dead. However, it is still a continuation of the play, Jackson commits the dead ball foul during the continuation (or immediate action after the play), and thus now you have off setting fouls.

I forgot.. How many probowl recievers/kickreturners are in the league again? Zeru
I know the light he shines on the team. When he plays they win, when he doesnt care the whole team falls apart. The Eagles havent figured it out. But Green Bay will sign him and keep the Eagles from ever thinking about a superbowl ring. Zeru
Jackson's foot is sore from consistently putting it in his mouth. Show this man-child the door. narkose3535
Pay the man! Start VY against the Pats. I agree, he wasn't running for his life like Vick. I like Vick but he doesn't pump fake and his is smaller and more fragile than VY. Let's not get fancy with VY, keep it simple, hand the ball to our 1000 yd rusher, hit Celek across the middle/ up the seam and let DJAX make plays on the outside and use a few more RB screens to keep them honest. how can anyone not think D-Jax is maddening? He is talented and also undersized. He can change a game on a dime - by being an electric athlete or by being a petulant and obnoxious child. He is, sadly, T.O.-lite, and the Eagles brass knew it when they drafted him - heck, he slipped down to where he was drafted by the (poor?) reputation that preceeded him. Andy Reid certainly knows how to handle personalities and issues - and Jackson most likley has been given as much rope and freedom as he would anywhere (honestly, could you see this guy playing - AS HE IS NOW - for Belichek?) He does need to grow up, but honestly - if anyone expects him to "change" - he may need a serious wake up call. It's a shame that the guy with the greatest street cred and rep, the guy who has successfully remade his image and has won back over many (yes, I'm talking about QB#7) can't seem to get D-Jax to learn from HIS mistakes. It only took losing everything for Vick to become a more humble and team oriented man - does D-Jax need to have that experience for himself, too? We should all hope not. mebphila
no fun league strikes again let him have some fun for gods sake stop trying to make the game as boring as your life wcm65
the n.f.l. commissioner should put a stop to all this b.s. by fining the team for each occurrence. gypoe
Hope he will be okay. the kid still needs to learn how to be a good sportsman. He seems to find a way to hurt the team with some stupid action. Not that he is the only one, but his are usually after making a great play. PhillyFanSouth
Jackson's play last night was enough to make me change my opinion on him. Costing his team 50 yards and putting them back on the 5 YL was the act of an immature imbecile and needs to be dealt with now. It's obvious he has a bad case of Ratboy disease just like T.O. May be time for a players only meaning...if you get my drift. tpizza- I agree, but the bigger problem is that no one on the Eagles or announcing the game, or even officiating on the field, realized the referee blew the call. The taunting was a dead ball foul and the rule book says this:
A.R. 14.195 DOUBLE FOUL—TAUNT AND LIVE-BALL FOUL
Third-and-3 on A30. B2 intercepts a pass and returns it for a touchdown. When B2 is at the A10, he turns and taunts A1 who is chasing him. A2 clips B5 during B2’s run.
Ruling: Touchdown Team B. Kickoff B35. The taunting foul is treated as a dead-ball foul, thus making this a “clean hands score.” The fouls offset on the kickoff. (12-3-1-c)
In other words, the play should have stood and the penalties offset, but the ref ruled no play and nobody knew enough to argue it. Uncle Carm - Make that MEETING.

A top 5 receiver doesn't get hurt every game...there is always something with this clown...if it is not for his immature showboating it an injory or something. He needs to hit the gym and get stronger...he is fragile...he is nothing compared to Fitzgerald and Johnson. desertduck31
They should put his mouth in a wrap. dasher
Ernie, you are probably right but that's not the point. The point is DJax needs to grow up quickly. This game does not suffer fools or the foolish very long. Two of the games bigger boneheads - TO and Ochodumbo are slowly disappearing into the background. A 3-6 team really needs to be a little more humble and let the plays speak for themselves. Humiliation is one play away. DJax is foolish with his antics. bigcityballer
Do you people who are getting on Jackson think the Birds would have won that game last night without him? There is no way! erniebanks14
Comment removed.
Anyone notice that our QB wasn't on the ground after every play this game. I think Vince got rid of the ball quicker then the 100 million dollar man. RealizticFan- and he was only sacked once. I am not a VY fan but he certainly added a different element. Being 6'6" helps, too.

Agree with Dennis. Good question of Reid re: Jackson being maddening. He is maddening... and Andy probably handles him as well or better than most other coaches in the NFL would. Mr. Magee
still not worth top 5 wr money...average of top 10... YES... agree to that money Mr Jackson and the team will sign you right away.... hold out for top five and you will be tagged and traded. dennismithusa
He made the catch that he was hurt on. It was not just an attempt. djack10
