Gus Bradley has landed in Philadelphia, but is a deal with the Eagles near?
Les Bowen, Daily News Staff Writer
Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, believed to be the front-runner to replace Andy Reid as Eagles coach, arrived in Philadelphia around 2:30 this afternoon for his second interview with team officials.
Though Bradley is the only candidate known to have met with the Eagles more than once, a source close to another candidate cautioned that Bradley's initial interview, held the day before the Seahawks exited the playoffs at the hands of the Falcons, was shorter than usual for such meetings, given Bradley's focus on game preparation. So this second meeting might be more than just tying up loose ends in preparation for a deal.
"No decision has been made in Philly yet," the source said.
Eagles defensive end Darryl Tapp played a year for Bradley in Seattle before being traded to the Eagles. Tapp told the Daily News Bradley is "energetic, motivated and a genuinely good dude, knows his stuff.'
"If hired, he will be a true asset," Tapp said.
Monday, the Eagles interviewed Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt for about 4 hours, then spoke with Cincinnati offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. If the Eagles indeed are close to a decision, as many people around the process believe, Whisenhunt and Bradley seem to be shaping up as the finalists.
The Eagles liked the Whisenhunt interview, a source said, and Whisenhunt very much would like to coach here.
Bradley is scheduled to interview with the Jaguars Wednesday.
Stay tuned.
Maybe he is coming to Philly with a nice new suit? 1000hugs
@1000hugs, if any reporters are at the airport I'm sure we will see video of him carrying a garment bag over his shoulder!! News conference tomorrow at noon is my guess! Simma_Down_Now
DO YOU JOB!!
and sign him now!! repski
I think all of the candidates that have turned down the job did so after the third hour of the interview. Why are all of these interviews 8, 9 hours long? Do they all go take dumps together and read the tea leaves to see if a Super Bowl is in their futures? Iron Giant- You are assuming they were actually offered the job.

Two solid canidates. I am also clad we passed on the Kelly's, the Gruden's, Bellicheck etc. Let's draft Joekel and dominate the offensive line and the time of possession. pyleiton
Bradley is a third year DC, and before that spent 3 years in Tampa Bay as Linebacker coach and quality control assistant.
Where is there any evidence Bradley is the best candidate available of those interviewed? Where is there show a capability to rebuild a flawed defense in the NFL and turn around a team?
If a defensive minded coach is what the Eagles crave, how is it shown Bradley is a better candidate than Lovie Smith?
Where are some of you farming for information to make such recommendations on how to hire?
What's the chances that Bradley has the skills to bring along an inexperienced 2nd year Quarterback being that Philly seems sold on Nick Foles? Dexter
Gud Bradley seems like the strongest contender outside of Lovie Smith and Jon Gruden, but PLEASE don;t hire Whisenhunt. He has absolutely no clue how to coach and groom a quarterback, as evidenced by the pathetic quarterback carousel we saw in Arizona. Obviously he didn't have a lot to work with, but his indecision only made matters worse, and kept the team from gelling around their offensive leader. Hiring him would NOT be a smart decision. i don't know why teams in the playoffs allow their OC/DCs to interview with other teams.. They all loose. Look at what happened to Indy, Seattle, Denver, New England (last year, when O'Brien interviewed for the PS job),... Interviews are too much of a distraction and they should be left alone until after the Superbowl.. USAFirst1
Wiki already has him listed as the head coach. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gus_Bradley pritter
Poor Nick Foles. No coach from last year around to interpret his game film with him. It would have really helped his development.
When your offense is so young, and your defense is mostly veterans, an offensive-minded coach is the best option. I hope this works out. EmanuelP
Hopefully it will be WELCOME to PHILLY ! COACH BRADLEY !!! johnnyu john ullman
defense please!!!!!! psualum
bradley is the choice. without falling into warner, whiz would've be fired years ago. snakeplissken- No winning with you. From 2002-2006 Kurt Warner had an 8-23 won-loss record at QB. In 2007 Whisenhunt comes around, Warner's career is revived, and the coach had nothing to do with that? That doesn't say much for Mike Martz, Tom Coughlin, and Denny Green who couldn't do anything with Kurt Warner.
