Sapp Signs; Maclin has 'tight' hammy
The Eagles announced they have signed fifth-round LB/DE Ricky Sapp, from Clemson, to a four-year deal. That gives them six draftees signed, out of 13.
Also, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin worked out on the side today with what the Eagles are calling a "tight" hamstring.
Maclin was with the team's conditioning and training staffs rather than taking part in the OTAs.
The Birds already are without DeSean Jackson at the wide receiver position, who skipped his second day this week. There is no indication that he intends to return for the remaining two days.
Asante Samuel also remained absent, dealing with a personal issue in Florida.

The Eagles have signed linebacker Simoni Lawrence, a former all-state running back at Upper Darby.
Lawrence, a rookie free agent out of Minnesota, originally signed with the St. Louis Rams following the 2010 draft, but was released on May 25.
Although he said he was a Cowboys fan, Lawrence said he was thrilled to be with the Eagles.
"This is a dream come true," he said. "To stay home in Philadelphia, I'm so happy to be out here. I just love the area. So glad to be here, I can't even explain it."
He recorded 151 tackles, six sacks and two interceptions in his two-year career at Minnesota, adding two touchdowns (one interception return, one fumble return). A defensive co-captain for the Gophers, Lawrence earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2009 after ranking fourth on the team with 85 tackles and contributing two sacks, one interception and one forced fumble.
Before attending Minnesota, Lawrence played two seasons at Valley Forge Military Academy, where he was twice named the Seaboard Football Conference Player of the Year and helped the Cadets win back-to-back conference titles.
another mediocre addition to a mediocre team mibrze
This kid has a better chance emulating another VFMA grad, JD Salinger than he does ever playing in the NFL davi
davi......or then again maybe VFMA alumni Larry Fitzgerald. Romus
I guess the Eagles staff decided to be safe and not let him push it to a full blown injury. I for one thought he had pretty good numbers as a rookie. Not sure why you guys are down on him. As for the article: Just cannot help but stick the DeSean Jackson blip in there. It's almost as much ink as you gave Maclin. You keep throwing it in, and I'll keep pointing out what a bunch of lazy bums you two are. PhillyFanSouth
Comment removed.- I love tight hamstrings. Kevin's got the tightest! A tight hamstring in those tight, little shorts. My, my my, clutch the pearls!
these otas are just garbage, ask buckhalter Onlineps2beast- Camp Body...and this is news? citysims
- The Tonner has no respect for front-running Cowboys fans who grew up in the Delaware Valley. The Tonner can't wait until this guy gets cut.
Comment removed.- seriously... if it's not broken, pulled or torn, what's the point in reporting on it. It's June 8th
His hammy is tight and it's news? Meh... He's fine and will be fine.. Glad Sapp is signed, I can't wait to see him in action. Phillyfan8181
@extremeteam - Jackson is a #2 WR? Do you even watch football? PhilliesFan200
@extremeteam: Maclin is a helluva lot faster than brown, who had marginal speed coming out of georgia. He only got better as the season wore on and made the big-time catches late in games against Washington and Denver that we've missed for years. Maclin and Jackson have the potential to become one of the league's top tandems in a year or two. Omorales510
This guy Lawerce is from Philly, signs with the Iggs and announces he's a Dallas fan? Release him immediatly, if just for stupidity. CrustaManVibrations
