Westy Out; Jordan Practices

Eagles running back Brian Westbrook has met again with the concussion specialists for a checkup and they "want to check him again in a week or two," coach Andy Reid said today.

Westbrook will not play this week against Atlanta, as expected. Westbrook declined to speak with reporters in the locker room.

He had what Reid called "a slight headache" after a workout Friday. "We'll take a look at it next week, and increase his exercise a little bit," Reid said.

Weakside linebacker Akeem Jordan, absent with a knee hyperextension the past three weeks, practiced Wednesday, albeit with the scout team. Jordan seems on track to return Sunday, which could be a huge boost for the defense.

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who suffered a concussion against Washington, is not listed as out, at this point, Reid said.

Jackson told ESPN.com that he "blacked out," the first time anyone with the Eagles had said Jackson was anything more than "foggy" from the third-quarter hit by London Fletcher.

Reid said Jackson was "making progress."

"I don't know about 'blacked out,' " Reid said. "He took a heckuva shot. He has a concussion."

The Eagles will "mix and match" at Jackson's position if he can't play, Reid said.

Jackson also declined to speak with reporters.

As for Michael Vick's return to Atlanta, Donovan McNabb said he expected Vick will get a "standing ovation."

He also lauded the Sixers' acquisition of Allen Iverson, saying his return is "only going to improve their backcourt."

The Eagles have signed cornerback Chris Roberson to the practice squad. He takes the spot previously occupied by wide receiver Jordan Norwood, who was added to the 53-man roster yesterday in light of Jackson's concussion. He worked out for the Eagles yesterday.
