A source close to the situation denied the report and said the Eagles are not interested in Shawn Springs.
Could a third former member of the New England Patriots' secondary end up with the Eagles?
The starting corners at the moment - Asante Samuel and Ellis Hobbs - both played with the Pats and now Shawn Springs is reportedly a strong possibility to join them.
Springs, 35, was released Tuesday by New England, and ESPN and the Boston Globe say the Eagles are interested. Baltimore and Seattle are also said to be interested and ESPN's Adam Schefter indicated the Patriots could look to re-sign him.
Springs played mostly cornerback for the Pats last season but could move to safety to help fill a void with the Eagles. He made 40 tackles with an interception in 13 games.
He visited the Eagles last March as a free agent and said at the time the Eagles were looking to move him to safety should he sign.
Springs played seven seasons with Seattle, which drafted him third overall, and one season with Washington and New England.
