Eagles release area lineman

Episcopal Academy product Greg Isdaner's stay with his hometown team ended up short-lived.

The Eagles released him and cornerback Stoney Woodson from the practice squad today and signed offensive lineman Gerald Cadogan, a Penn State product.

Isdaner joined the Eagles on Nov. 25. He had been with Dallas in the preseason before being cut. He returned to the area and was working as a part-time assistant coach at Episcopal.

Cadogan was a two-year starter as a left tackle for the Nittany Lions before signing with the Carolina Panthers as a rookie free agent following the 2009 draft. After being released by the Panthers on Aug. 31, Cadogan spent time on the practice squads of the Cincinnati Bengals and San Diego Chargers.

Cadogan was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a two-time Academic All-American.

SCHEDULE UPDATE

The Eagles game against the 49ers on Dec. 20 will remain a 1 o’clock start, the NFL decided Tuesday.

There was some thought the league would adjust the start time based on the flex scheduling option. Instead, the Minnesota-Carolina game will remain the Sunday night game and the Eagles-49ers remains unchanged. The only adjustment the league made was moving the Green Bay-Pittsburgh game from 1 o’clock to 4:15.

The Eagles play at the Giants this Sunday night in a crucial NFC East matchup.
