The Eagles signed cornerback Stoney Woodson to the practice squad and released linebacker Jeremy Leman.

Woodson, 24, was originally drafted by the New York Giants in the seventh round in 2009 and saw action in two preseason games before being released on September 6. In those two games, he totaled five tackles and one interception.

Woodson (5-10, 198) played collegiately at South Carolina, where he amassed 109 tackles and seven interceptions during his four-year career.

Leman was signed during the first week of the season after he was cut by Carolina. The thinking at the time was that Leman might have been brought in because he was familiar with the Panthers, having spent the preseason with them, though the team denied this. The Eagles played the Panthers in Week 1. Last week, Leman, who preferred to go by "J," had to change locker stalls, so Jeremiah Trotter could reclaim his old spot. Turned out to be an omen.

The Eagles game against the New York Giants on Nov. 1 has been moved to a 1 p.m. start to avoid a conflict with a possible World Series game involving the Phillies.

Should the Phillies beat the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, the Phillies would host Game 4 with a likely start time of 8:07.

Eagles-Giants had been scheduled for 4:15. The NFL moved the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers to 4:15 to accomodate an earlier start at Lincoln Financial Field.

The World Series and both football games are scheduled to be shown on Fox.

“The game-time changes have been made prior to the outcome of the NLCS to give fans of all four NFL teams involved as much advance notice as possible,” the NFL said in a statement.

The NFL said the change “will help ease the burden on city service and law enforcement personnel who work at the two Philadelphia stadiums and staff the parking lots shared by the teams.”

It's been speculated for a couple of days that Fox wanted to switch the Eagles-Giants game to 1:00 PM because they wanted to broadcast the Brett Favre return to Green Bay at 4:00 PM. Reportedly, the hold up was that they don't like to have the Giants and Jets play at the same time. I guess the Phillies gave them an out to make the switch other than a hard sneeze.

Must keep Kolb as Vick is far from being ready to handle the team. I actually like Vick in the WC role and would like to see him run the ball more.

Looks like we'll need another defensive back, if the injuries this week turn into something more serious.

WHERE IS THE RUNNING GAME? We're pretty sanguine right now, but we've beaten no one. Westbrook appears to be a shell of his former self. Without a reliable running game we are doomed to an early playoff exit at best. Sound familiar?

bung, there is no one in the nfl. look at the eagles schedule. raiders, 49ers, bears, and 2 games each with redskins and cowboys. that gets them to 10. then we got denver at home and atlanta on the road. let's call that a split. split with giants and lose to the chargers, that's a 12-4 season. c u in the super bowl!

Bung we are winning by 20 and you are asking why we arent running more? McNabb is 17-20 Kolb is 20-25 and you wanna run? Whats wrong with some fans -- nothing better to complain about. Suprised someone isnt complaining that we arent playing close games so we arent gonna be ready for a tough one. Philly fans--LOL

Everybody needs to remember the Mike Schmidt quote "In Philly you can experience the thrill of victory and the agony of reading about it the next morning". Fans have been conditioned by the Philly media to focus on the negative side of every positive outcome. You don't realize it's that way until you move away for a couple of years. Go Phils, Go Eagles, Go Flyers!

Getting one out is not much of a save....walking 2 in the other, not too impressive. Sadly, blowing just one game at this point in the playoffs will doom the Phils....

Les BowenLes Bowen has covered the Eagles for the Daily News since 2002. Before that, he spent nearly 13 years covering the Flyers. It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. A native of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Wilkes University, Domo started his career in Texas, working first for the Midland Reporter-Telegram (1976-78), and then for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where he covered some god-awful Texas Ranger baseball teams.
