The Eagles signed tight end Tony Curtis and linebacker Curtis Gatewood and released former Temple quarterback Adam DiMichele and wide receiver Shaheer McBride, from Chester.

Curtis worked out for the team Friday and it seemed unlikely he would be offered a contract. He was released Aug. 4 by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Before being signed by the Chiefs this spring, he had been with the Dallas Cowboys. He appeared in 36 games with 11 catches for 50 yards and three touchdowns.

Gatewood was claimed by the Detroit Lions in April after being waived by the Chiefs. He signed with the Washington Redskins as a rookie free agent following the 2008 draft. After spending most of the season on the Redskins practice squad, Gatewood signed with the Chiefs on in November and appeared in four games.

Curtis will wear No. 83 and Gatewood will wear  No. 48.

This may be the most over-rated team since Dallas over the past decade.

When you consider the fact that the Eagles are 33-30-1 in the last 4 years, and how well they are suppose to proform in each of the last 4 seasons plus this season, this may be the overrated team in NFL history.

Kansas City won 2 games last year. Is there a reason we are signing their leftovers???

Can't be too overrated with that many playoff appearances.

Go back to Dallas Vito and KG, don't let the big screen fall on your head. Since 2000 the Birds have the 4th best winning percentage, 2nd most playoff wins, and 2nd most playoff appearances in the NFL. Not too bad! For the people that say it's garbage without a Super Bowl, everyone seemed to forget the Phillies won a ring last year when they dropped 8 of 11 earlier this month. So be happy with a perennial contender.

It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. A native of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Wilkes University, Domo started his career in Texas, working first for the Midland Reporter-Telegram (1976-78), and then for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where he covered some god-awful Texas Ranger baseball teams.
