Eagles raise ticket prices, announce staff changes
Les Bowen, Daily News Staff Writer
As was alluded to in the Daily News earlier this week, the Eagles have made some changes on their coaching staff, the team announced today.
James Urban, the offensive assistant/quality control, is taking over Pat Shurmur's role as the quarterbacks coach. Shurmur is now the offensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams. Ex-quarterback Doug Pederson will inherit Urban's old job.
Ted Daisher, who assisted John Harbaugh with the Eagles' special teams in 2004-05, is returning as the special teams coordinator. He replaces Rory Segrest, who is moving to defensive line coach, following the retirement of Pete Jenkins.
Wide receivers coach David Culley will assume a larger role in gameplanning and in the passing game in general, the team said.
None of these changes has anything to do with the situation involving defensive coordinator Jim Johnson'c cancer treatment. Officially, Johnson will continue in his job. Unofficially, if Johnson finds he is unable to continue, secondary coach Sean McDermott is next in line for the role. McDermott did not interview elsewhere for defensive coordinator jobs this month, though there was interest.
Last but certainly not least, to the strained wallets of season-ticketholders, is the ticket price increase the Birds announced today. A team spokesman said most tickets are going up $5 per ticket per game, with lower level end zone seats going up $10. The spokesman said the most expensive Eagles ticket will go from $90 to $95.
The Eagles ranked 15th in NFL ticket costs last season, when they did not raise prices. The spokesman said ticket buyers can put half their money down by March 15, then pay the rest by June 5.

When tickets are only available to season ticket holders, JQ Public does not really care about the prices, so, why spend any time on this? BTW, if any season ticket holders wish to sell yours, please email me...HA! psuwelsh

drnat - Hate, anger... these are the ways of the Dark Side, young Padawan. Put on some ambient music, light some really nice incense, sit down and cross your legs and take nice, deep breaths... slowly. Let all of the anger, and hate evaporate like water with each deep breath. Take my word for it...Life will be much better afterwards. ; ) CV

I find this utterly amazing. Having lived in SF from '79-90 and seeing Walsh/Montana's run, McNabb/Reid have to be the diametric opposite vis a vis success and championships. It's amazing that fans keep shelling out for NO CHAMPIONSHIPS.....just amazing!! Lurie isn't getting the return one would expect given his capital invested.....except at the turnstiles. It's about winning the championship. One of these years, he'll finally get it. boasocal
Here's to me hoping McNabb's contract talks follow the same path of T.O.'s. Hopefully he will be in Chicago or Minnesota and then Dmacfools can move his work location from the TGIF kitchen in King of Prussia to TGIF Chicago/Minesota-St, Paul. Ohm Shanti. Voytas
The Eagles raise ticket prices? How is that news? Lurie is laughing at us all the way to the bank! NickEeee
Why is it $5 per seat? wouldnt make more sense if it was a % raise and now a standard raise across the board? Coff- DMACRULES - I'm a fan of McNabb and want to keep him around, but to bag on Westbrook is uncalled for.
