Eagles-Redskins report card
Paul Domowitch, Daily News NFL Columnist
RUSHING OFFENSE
The Redskins put eight men in the box most of the night, which was enough to scare the Eagles into passing on almost every down. Brian Westbrook ran the ball just 4 times for 12 yards in the second half. Grade: D-minus
PASSING OFFENSE
The absences of Hank Baskett and Kevin Curtis hurt a passing game that was plagued by the dropsies. DeSean Jackson had 2 big drops, including one that would’ve been a=2 0TD. Tight end L.J. Smith let at least 3 balls slip through his hands. Grade: D-minus
RUN DEFENSE
The Eagles, who gave up 203 rushing yards to the Redskins in their first meeting, held them to 122 and 3.8 yards per carry Sunday. Redskins had just 2 double-digit runs. Grade: B
PASS DEFENSE
Asante Samuel and Quintin Mikell dropped potential game-changing interc eptions. But the Eagles did hold Jason Campbell and the Redskins to 4.4 yards per attempt and no touchdowns. Grade: B
SPECIAL TEAMS
Return men DeSean Jackson and Quintin Demps were non-factors. Time and time again, Redskins punter Ryan Plackemeier pinned the Eagles deep in their own territory. Grade: C
OVERALL
An offense that had converted 33 of 50 third-down opportunities in wins over Arizona, the Giants and Cleveland, converted just 3 of 14 against the Redskins. While the ‘Skins put 8 and 9 defenders in the box much of the night, that’s no excuse for having your running backs run the ball just 13 times. Grade: F
- It's all on Andy...again. If #36 gets more than 4 carries in the second half you don't need to worry about dropped balls. Reid and his mule-like ways are far beyond getting old... Even if we make the playoffs, anything short of a SB victory should get Reid fired!!!
CATCH THE BALL, YOU GET PAID TO CATCH THE BALL reddevil
Red how can you blame the wrs when everything was BEHIND THEM. COACHING: F Bender- team is POORLY COACHED. dropped passes, more balanced offense, better game day awareness, better passes from QB ALL CAN BE CURED FROM BETTER COACHING. give DMac a better coach an u hav less ankle & wrong shoulder passes. and give DMAc more chance to succeed. FAT ANDY is wasting away our talent crew. GIVE FAT ANDY A WONDERLIC TEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! daveH
So much gets said about McNabb, yet the biggest change in the three game win streak was that Brian Westbrook, who the skins admitted is the most dangerous player in the NFL, became the centerpoint of the offense. Everyone knows the Eagles receivers are average at best. To use Westbrook as nothing but a blocker in the biggest game of the season is crazy. With constant pressure and a defense waiting for the pass, I thought McNabb played well. LJ and DJax should give back their paychecks this week. dannymac
I feel like such a loser for getting sucked in to this terrible team year after year. Great article on this subject on WhoDeyrevolution.com bababooey2yall
I have an idea. Lure Scott Pioli away from the Patriots(he's already expressed an openess to go somewhere else given the right situation). You know,a real talent evaluator with a track recond of success,to be the general manager. Then get Steve Spagnuolo from the Giants to coach the team where he experienced his first successes. I bet you won't see the same ineptitude with those guys. First and foremost, though,Reid has to go! Sadly,we will probably see that fat, stubborn, ineffective slob roaming the sidelines again next season. More of the same. What a crying shame. Maddy1
Note to Jeff Lurie re: Christmas Gifts... For Andy, Marty, and Donavan, watches that tell time and copies of the NFL rules handbook. Just for future reference. BigLadd

The Eagles have no heart. Play execution is poor. There is no sense of urgency, even with the season on the line. They look unprepared. That all points to coaching, folks. stevewnj1- The Redskins might have shown a run defense, but they themselves said they were expecting pass the whole game. They had 3 corners in their base package. Reid got outsmarted. What's wrong with running the ball on 2nd and 8? Two or three yards gets you a manageable situation on 3rd down. jayheezy
