Game day has arrived once again as the Eagles travel to Oakland to face the Raiders.

As usual, we kick off the day with our staff predictions and key matchups. Les Bowen will join the fray from the Oakland Coliseum and then we will have postgame coverage into the night here on Eagletarian.

STAFF PREDICTIONS

Les Bowen: Eagles, 30-9 (More on Les' pick, by clicking here)

Ed Barkowitz: Eagles, 27-6

Bill Conlin: Eagles, 27-10

Paul Domowitch: Eagles, 31-9

Marcus Hayes: Eagles, 35-20

John Smallwood: Eagles, 31-13

Vegas Vic: Eagles, 35-10 (To read Vic's full Week 6 selections, click here)

DOMO'S KEY MATCHUPS

1. Eagles WR DeSean Jackson vs. Raiders RCB Nnamdi Asomugha: Asomugha is a shutdown corner whom teams generally throw away from. Jackson already has two 100-yard receiving games. Advantage: Raiders

2. Eagles RDE Trent Cole vs. Raiders LT Mario Henderson: Henderson is an athletic left tackle who will have his hands full against the high-motor Cole, who has a team-high 3 1/2 sacks. Advantage: Eagles

3. Eagles TE Brent Celek vs. SLB Jon Alston: Celek leads the Eagles in receptions. Alston is an undersized SAM who could have problems with the much-stronger Celek. Advantage: Eagles

Eagles, 48-7... btw, just wondering how you could rank the Steelers ahead of Cincy when they have fewer losses and already beat Pittsburgh? Sorry, but the Broncos should be ahead of the Eagles, especially after they beat NE last week; both teams have played 1 good team, so their schedules are a wash...also, have you watched Cleveland or Oakland this year? They have absolutely no passing offense...by far, the two worst teams in football...

Looking pretty dumb to have the Giants #1. They are getting manhandled by the Saints. Giants are overrated (and so is Eli).

Again, Reid shows his inability to adjust to what the other team's defense is doing. It looked like the Raider's Def Co knew every play that was coming??? McNabb as usually, comes up small at the end of a tight game. Can you remember the last time this guy brought this team back from behind to win??

About Eagletarian Blog
Les BowenLes Bowen has covered the Eagles for the Daily News since 2002. Before that, he spent nearly 13 years covering the Flyers. It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. He, his wife Barbara, and their two sons live in Haddon Township, New Jersey. E-mail Les at bowenl@phillynews.com and follow him on Twitter.

Paul DomowitchPaul Domowitch has been with the Daily News since 1982. He has spent most of his nearly 3 decades with the paper covering the Eagles and pro football. For the last 10 years, he’s been a selector for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A native of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Wilkes University, Domo started his career in Texas, working first for the Midland Reporter-Telegram (1976-78), and then for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where he covered some god-awful Texas Ranger baseball teams. His first beat at the Daily News actually was boxing, which he covered just long enough to lose 2 sports coats to blood spatter before moving on to football. Domo and his wife Shelley, a University of Oklahoma grad who still hasn’t gotten over that Fiesta Bowl loss to Boise State 5 years ago, have 2 terrific daughters -- Allison, 28, who is an attorney in South Jersey, and Amy, 25, who works in administration for a professional baseball team.
