Here are Domo's grades for today's Eagles loss to Arizona. You can make your grades by clicking here.
RUSHING OFFENSE
You would think the absence of DeSean Jackson would encourage Andy Reid to run the ball more, not less. But LeSean McCoy’s 14 carries were his fewest since he had 11 in the Eagles’ Week 5 loss to the Bills. McCoy averaged 5.8 yards per carry, had three runs of 13 yards or more and notched his 10th rushing TD, making the 14 carries even more curious.
Grade: B-plus
PASSING OFFENSE
With or without DeSean Jackson, there’s no excuse for the awful game Michael Vick had. Vick completed just 16 of 34 passes, averaged just 3.8 yards per attempt, overthrew wide-open receivers and threw two more interceptions, including his fourth of the year in the red zone. A third was overturned by a replay challenge. The Eagles’ four wideouts combined for eight catches for 55 yards.
Grade: F
RUN DEFENSE
The Eagles containted one-legged Beanie Wells, holding him to 2.7 yards per carry on 23 attempts. But Wells did have 12- and 6-yard carries on the Cardinals’ second TD drive. And they got burned for 12 yards by wide receiver Andre Roberts on a second-quarter end-around in the red zone that set up Arizona’s first touchdown.
Grade: B
PASS DEFENSE
A secondary that includes two of the game’s best cornerbacks — Nnamdi Asomugha and Asante Samuel — allowed Larry Fitzgerald to run wild in the fourth quarter, catching five passes for 94 yards and one touchdown. John Skelton threw three touchdown passes against them. I repeat, John Skelton threw three touchdown passes against them.
Grade: F
SPECIAL TEAMS
Eagles did an excellent job of containing dangerous Patrick Peterson on punt returns. He averaged just 4.5 yards on six returns. P Chas Henry had his best game of the season, averaging 42.8 yards per attempt and putting four punts inside the 20. Alex Henery booted a 36-yard, fourth-quarter field goal that briefly gave the Eagles the lead. Without DeSean Jackson, Eagles got little out of their return game. Not that they were getting much out of it with him.
Grade: B
OVERALL
Michael Vick played lousy and you can’t blame it all on the absence of DeSean Jackson. Two more interceptions, one more in the red zone. Defensive coordinator Juan Castillo has done some questionable things this season, but not putting Nnamdi Asomugha on Larry Fitzgerald from the opening kickoff to the closing whistle tops the cake. Jaiquawn Jarrett on Fitzgerald? Seriously?
Grade: F

Hey Philly fans hows that QB change working out for ya? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL obergruber
I am not renewing my tickets if Reid comes back. I hate Lurie's ownership, all talk no Superbowl. A losing home record going back to last year is inexcusable. The Phillies are going to get my $$$. There is competition for sports dollars, Jeff. SuperJ
What was Smith thinking? He just decided "I'm going to lay down here. I'm done running." DelValLifer
You're a sick mother f****r. DelValLifer
I agree that the play where Steve Smith lay down was emblematic of this team and this season. I have watched a lot of professional football, and I've seen a lot of alligator arms and "for who, for what" moments, but I don't think I've ever seen anything as blatantly chicken-livered as what Smith did on that play. I gasped out loud watching it. Dave Clemens
Word out of the Bay Area is that David Akers desperately wants to return to Philly!
He's tired of cable cars, sourdough bread ... and winning.
FishFryFrank- It's funny how Akers was let go for "inconsistency"? He's only 5 for 5 in FG attempts over 50 yards. San Fran is calling him a machine. And we let him go.
McCoy averaged 2 yards more per carry than Vick did per pass attempt so of course don't give him the ball anymore! DelValLifer - Eagles looked great this week. With the roll the Eagles are on we just might win the Super Bowl again this year. Looks like Andy's going to run out of fingers with all these super bowl trophies he's collecting. HeelYes
I agree on the F for the Pass D.....my question is why wasn't Nnamdi on Fitz on the Cards final drive?? That's a head scratcher. When he was in Oakland he shut him down completely....I guess the Eagles Coaches know what there doing. John Dealoni
It's funny, the team gives up only 21 points and loses and it's the D's fault even though Vick had the ball in the end. In the 2009 playoff game, the D gives up 31 and it's McNabb's fault. palmyra21
the last Eagles championship team had comparatively less talent than this tea but they had leadership and heart. For you history buffs, the Eagles had virtually no running game in 1960 and couldn't compare in talen t to the Packers, the team that they beat for the NFL championship. What they had was a good coach, a great quarterback(Van Bocklin) who was a true leader, good pass receivers, and the amazing Chuck Bednarik. They didn't miss tackles, went into every game with a good plan, and outgutted the other teams. This team has real NFL players on the defensive line and the cornerbacks. Drumgoole
Lurie - F. He is the most responsible for this mess since he is the producer of the show. You just paid a lot of money for a high school level performance. This is better than Hollywood for Lurie. eaglephanatic
So we sit one receiver for the game, and have a limited Maclin playing hurt for the rest of the game, and Mccoy running through the Cardinals defense so naturally we hand him the ball 14 times? dminyon
Anyone who thinks that Reid is gone is a fool. Joe Banner would never be allowed the control he has by another Head Coach - GM and he will convince Lurie to stay with Reid. He will be given at least another year. The gamble will be based upon the notion that there is no way that the team could be this bad two years in a row. BMJ
Jerry Sandusky might be available. Bruce in NM
I was thinking the same thing when I saw Fitzgerald beat Jarrett for that TD. Terrible coaching. Just let this crew finish the season, then replace Reid. I don't think firing somebody midseason serves any purpose. p-diddy
Mccoy with anything under 20 carries is unacceptable, especially in this game. Being a long time Reid supporter, I think the time is now. Get out, and take your buddy Juan with you, unreal.... flyfightinbullies

Is there anyone out there who still can't see the arrogance of Andy Reid? Not using McCoy more in this game is a perfect example of arrogance, an I know better attitude, I'll do what I planned to do, regardless of whether it's the right thing or not. Giving the DC position to Castillo who has zero defensive coaching experience is another example along with giving Vick $100 million to lead the league in interceptions. It's becoming more and more clear that Andy Reid is not a quality coach as most thought he was, and was making a living off the coat tails of a young and athletic McNabb and the expertise of Jim Johnson. McNabb grew older and unfortunately JJ passed away and we are witnessing Andy Reid on his own now, with no one to cover up his ineptitude. What good coach doesn't value LB's? Green Bay does, San Fran does, Pitt does, Chicago does, what a surprise that the better teams in the league all have good to very good linebackers. Juan Castillo has taken three, count em three, All Pro Cornerbacks at some point in their careers and turned them into the worse secondary in the NFL. billro33
at least the flyers won today hardball
In a game where D Jax was out, Maclin banged up and Vick awful, McCoy should have had AT LEAST 25 touches...how many times have we had this conversation? soalivetoday
Just calm down, fellow Eagles fans! Think of the benefits of this awful season: you won't have to spend more time watching your favorite team, worry about playoff pairings, your January Sundays are free of distraction, you can spend more time with your family, children and grandchildren, you can visit grandma's house, and you can be spared listening to Reid's nonsensical mutterings about "it's my responsibility to...." And above all you won't have to worry about a late season collapse because it happened much sooner. prudential2
I've always been an Andy Reid supporter because he brought respectability back to the Eagles after the Kotite/Rhodes era. But now, it's getting a little old. I don't just want to hear that he needs to do better. He says that all the time. Words don't mean much if actions don't follow. How could he not run McCoy more? It's just inexcusable. Hikerman
Someone tell Little Howie Eskin he's wrong, Again. mmds
Cannot wait for the sportswriters to rip into Reid tomorrow. Question Domo, can Andy hear your questions with your collective noses so far up his you know what????? StorminNorman
Grade: The Gold Standard StorminNorman
Eagles offense looked strong as ever, picking up a total of THREE points in the 2nd half.
add that to the seven points they put up in the 1st half, and you begin to see that the defense is getting way more than its share of the blame.
btw - the World Series of Poker has asked that the phrase "all in" never be used again in association with this sad sack franchise. ekw555
Maybe the Eagles are taking a page from MLB and drinking in the locker room at half time. scootch
I am glad I did not buy season tickets this year. I would rather rake leaves. zeke128
3 wins Philly....3 WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! PastisPrologue
Late in the game Fox showed a stat..Eagles 5 dropped passes......
Cardinals none. Yes Vick had a poor game but his teammates didn't help him out either. Neither did the penalties. That's all on the players. McCoy rarely given the ball in the 4th quarter; defensive alignment that left a rookie safety on the games' best WR......that's all on the coaching. The Eagles would have been off with Steve Smith still in NY. The Giants are better off with Smith in Philly. Not having Smith allowed for the emergence of Cruz. That's the arrogance of Howie. Getting rid of AR won't do anything unless Howie goes too.
The problem isn't Vick and the solution isn't simply firing AR. bleedgreen
What does Reid have against McCoy? WR's are out, Vick is sucking big time. McCoy is your only playmaker. So he gets 14 carries and 5 targets in the passing game? Horrible play calling. scootch
"Dream team? Gold Standard?? Juan Castillo as DC???....times yours" kelprod2
Actually can't fault Lurie. He spent big bucks this year. He does need to realize Andy isn't gonna win a superbowl here. Time to cut bait. Lil Ratman
OVERRATED! iceman4
The Eagles need to buy a lot of that 5-hour energy stuff, since the D falls asleep in the 4th quarter every game. verve
Hey domo, do you still love your 100 million uarterback? Are they paying you to write this dribble? Niether of you are earning your paycheck. mario1239
Everyone must remember that Lurie's no. 1 priority is making money and not winning Super Bowl's. gelang
Banner is not a football guy (actually a suit salesmen), nor is Howie. They put this team together with no thought to how the pieces would fit on the field, the chemistry, player leadership (especially D) or the desire to win games. The fish rots from the head but unfortunately Lurie the carpetbagger is going nowhere. Earl J

The fat lady is singing for the fat man! waltv
This undisciplined, under-achieving group were destine for failure when they hitched their wagon to Vick! EZG1- I would like to report a crime that over 3 million people wittnessed. We saw Andy Reid do something very inappropriate to a 13year old....play book. There is cover up by management as this same crime has been committed since 1999. All of his assistants have been complicit in the crime as well.
- This comment really sets a new low for tasteless comments. You should be ashamed for trying to be cute about a tragic event. ScottD01
These guys are all about padding stats now. It all starts with me......blah, blah, blah andy. NC Eagle Fan
Right now, the vision of Pukey McFlabb yacking all over the field while Fat Andy holds his GIANT menu is looking pretty good! DreamTeamWeaver
Not just Andy Reid's fault...sort of. Let us not forget the owner who obviously could care less if the Eagles ever win a super bowl. This has been evident for oh, say, 13 years because Andy Reid has always been an idiot who's players have, in the past, made him look good despite the fact that he's an idiot. And let's also place just as much blame where it belongs with the fans as well, because they are the ones who keep filling the seats week after week, year after year, to support the fat wallet of a man who could care less. He's laughing all the way to the bank. So blame yourselves fans, for buying the merchandise and filling the seats to watch a team and organization that has been doomed ever since the day they decided that giving the eagles' head coaching job to Brett Favre's ball boy was a good idea. Yea, genius. 13 years? What a joke, and you keep on buying into it. If fans have any pride at all there won't be a single seat filled for the rest of this year and next year too, because God knows Lurie is probably going to give Reid a contract extension. Idiots. Reidiculous
Seems they've packed it in for the season... Stick a fork in 'em, they're done! TerryW
There is significant talent on this Eagles team. Ultimately, coaching must take responsibility for the disaster this season has become. Ultimately, changes in coaching are what will return this team to success. davecherryhill
You're also not good at math. Three Bs and two Fs do not average out to an overall grade of F. jman- Depends on what he means by an F. Thinking back to HS and College an F could be anything from 0 to 65, while a B was I think an 80 to 85. Two zeros and 3 eighties would average out to failing. The point is, this Eagles team is the most disappointing and awful team in recent memory, even more than that 2005 Eagles team with the T.O. blow up. Fire everyone.
robthea
Here are some suggestions questions to ask at tomorrow's press conference:
1. We're 10 weeks into the season, Andy, so when, exactly, are you going to put the players in a better position to make plays?
2. Now that you've fired Juan Castillo this morning, who will be running the defense for the rest of the season?
3. Since McCoy is the top-rated rusher in the NFC, why did he get only six, repeat SIX, carries in the second half? (AKA, Are you insane?)
4. Now that Rogers-Cromartie is benched for the rest of the season, will Hanson be your starting slot cornerback?
5. You said on Sunday after the game that the play called on the Fitzgerald bomb to set up the go-ahead touchdown near the end of the game actually put Jarrett on Fitzgerald one-on-one. Have you awakened and realized that this play should be banned for the rest of the Eagles existence? Seriously, Jaquan Jarrett on the best receiver in the league? And you actually DEFEND that decision?
6. And, finally, how did Jeffrey Lurie react when you tendered your long-deserved resignation this morning?
Time's yours. farside37
Where was Avant? lagunners
And brainwashed Eagles fans will continue to buy tix, merchandise, etc...Lurie was right to buy this team, it's a cash machine with the most gullible fans in the league willing to support the team no matter what. Citizenc92- idiotic comment.
bobbyd24
Even Red Skelton would have beaten the Eagles today. God Bless everybody. Drew777- Team Stinks. Everyone gets an F but McCoy.
- One player need to be expelled from school, that is Steve Smith for laying down in front of the 1st down marker.
There was the whole season wrapped up in 1 play. It was the definition of a soft player who plays for a soft football team. It isn't about winning but staying healthy and collecting a paycheck.
PhillyJimi
How can a coach who is so out of control of himself as a person expect his team to play with any amount of mental toughness? He either needs to take a sabbatical and check himself into a high-end weight loss retreat, or quit the profession altogether. witmand- No need to dig up a personal attack on the guy, what he has done professionally this season is more then enough to attack.
It is becoming obvious Jim Johnson was the real genius behinds Andy's success. A Jim Johnson defense isn't going to give up a 4th qtr lead.
It is becoming obvious Andy is burnt out, coaching at this level will burn you out. There is no shame in it but he is cooked. PhillyJimi
F for Fat idiot, F for failures, F for Fire everybody. Blankman
Domo, you predicted a blowout win for the Eagles. Please do this city a favor and never write another column. jman
