Domo's Eagles-Cowboys report card

Here is Domo's report card for the Eagles-Cowboys game. You can give your grades by clicking here.
RUSHING OFFENSE: The Eagles' offensive line did a much better job of opening holes for Jerome Harrison than it did of protecting Kevin Kolb. The little-used Harrison, who came into the game with just 19 carries this season, rushed for 99 yards on 21 attempts
Grade: B-plus
PASS OFFENSE: Kevin Kolb was sacked 6 times and spent much of the game running for his life behind his porous protection. He completed just 18 of 36 passes, threw 3 interceptions and averaged only 4.5 yards per attempt.
Grade: D
RUN DEFENSE: After giving up 161 rushing yards last week to the Vikings, the Eagles were gashed for 159 Sunday. Defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley continued his fall from first-round grace. He played the entire game and was in on just 2 tackles, even though the Cowboys ran the ball 34 times.
Grade: D
PASS DEFENSE: Stephen McGee isn't Tony Romo or Jon Kitna, but the Eagles still did a good job of shutting him down, holding McGee to 11 completions in 27 attempts. But 2 of those completions came late in the fourth quarter to tight end Jason Witten -- a 33-yarder on second-and-10 and a 4-yard game-winning TD. If you're counting, that's 11 TD catches by opposing tight ends this season.
Grade: B
SPECIAL TEAMS: David Akers hit both of his field goal attempts. He finished the regular-season converting 26 of his last 28 attempts. Return men Chad Hall and Gerard Lawson both did a pretty good job. Coverage units shut down Cowboys return man Bryan McCann. Sav Rocca put 3 of his 7 punts inside the 20.
Grade: A-minus
OVERALL: Andy Reid rested most of his regulars, which is a plus. Rusty Kevin Kolb got some much-needed work in case something happens to Mike Vick in the playoffs, which also is a plus. His 3 interceptions and the 6 times he was sacked, not a plus.
Grade: B-minus

Kevin Kolb - F-minus. PhillyFanInPhoenix
Comment removed.
Considering the starters didn't play and the Cowpatties only scored 14 points I guess we did ok. Either that or the Cowpatties suck worse than I thought, which is very likely too. Kanayd
Indeed Mike - in fact they would have won easily if not for Kolb. That fumble, the INTs were completely his fault. Pressure or not, poor decisions are a QBs fault. Sacks are not always a QBs fault, but the way he played today makes me hope that we trade him this offseason. PhillyFanInPhoenix- Kolb doesn't look like he has evolved at all and is very prone to throw the ill-time int. This was going to be a long and frustrating season with Kolb under center, although if we're going to be 1 and done may have been better draft position.... What am I talking about, Reid would have wasted that anyway!
- Kolb did fine. You try completing a pass with the protection he had (virtually none). The back-up O-line is apparently pretty bad (the starting one isnt even that good) Even Vick or Brady would have struggled in front of that line trying to throw to 5-8 chad hall as your best reciever on the field. Kolb is good.
- Please let's not take the easy way out and try to pin the blame for Kolb's mediocre showing on the O-line, replacements or not. He was awful. He doesn't read the field well, his instincts about when to move up in the pocket and when to get out of it are lacking, he is slow and hesitant of foot, and his arm is just average. Yes, you'd have expected him to be a little rusty today, but with the amount of game experience he now has, he should have warmed up at some point. The guy looks like a career backup to me.
Reid made Kolb the sacrificial lamb. Second string O-line with Harrison, Hall, Cooper, and Avant at his disposal as offensive "weapons." Vick couldn't get it done on Tuesday with a full arsenal against a #3. kimbo39- Well, what's this? Has the "Babyarm" troll not awakened from his stupor yet? CharlieGarner, dude, you dropped your mantra, you know, the one about Reid and the SB? Honestly, I give the team an Incomplete, and the Coaching Staff a D+. The former? The starters were out, Kolb did not play well, and the reserves showed exactly why they are reserves. The latter? The coaches did NOT get these guys up for the game, and there was an absolute lack of passion! And people think the Eagles are going to kill the Packers next weekend? I don't think so.
Kolb stunk.Plain & simple. Just made the decision real easy. Get rid of him. bjones
Eagles have had one 7-minute high in the last three weeks. Not the way to get a team ready for the playoffs. The starters were totally dispirited against the Vikings and the reserves even more so today. It's obvious no one cared whether they won or lost and that is bad. Reid called his coaching against the Vikes "pathetic." His noncoaching today was almost as bad. Sad to say but the Birds will be cleaning out their lockers next Monday. mike l- O line has GOT TO BE a priority this off season. Worse I've seen it for a long time.
The stupidity of the fans is amazing sometimes. I dont idolize players. I root for my team so I have no reason to defend Kevin Kolb but here's a guy who has played very well many more times than he has played poorly and he has about 10 games of playing time? Thats how you've judged him?? He played after being off for the last 10 or so games and he played with the backups and an offensive line that is indeed offensive and now he's garbage based on 1 game?? In case you haven't noticed Vick has bewen shut down for 7 of the last 8 quarters. Outside of a couple good runs against the giants he's been shut down for 8 straight quarters. Is he garbage too? You losers would have traded Aikman and Manning when they were getting hammered when they started out. Kolob has actually started better than both of those hall of famers. He's not on their levelf course but the point is that wait until he plays a full season to judge him. Again, look it up. He's had more good games than bad. Try finding another young quarterback who has played so well in his 1st 10 games. Stay classy youz philly guyz. Sewellmatt
Kobb is just like anybody else. He gets better with the more work he gets. He also was playing with the entire second string. He's a legit player, though to be honest, he probably cost the Eagles a draft pick or the round in which they would get a pick for him. andrewfrombrooklyn- DOMO! GENIUS COMMENT REGARDING THE "POROUS PROTECTION" OF/FOR KOLB! Miss M.
