Dawkins in Denver

POSTED: Friday, February 27, 2009, 3:56 PM

Agent Jim Steiner has confirmed that free safety Brian Dawkins is visiting the Denver Broncos today. Dawkins, 35, is Philadelphia's longest-tenured pro athlete, and had been considered very likely to re-sign with the Eagles before free agency began at 12:01 Friday morning. That still might happen, but for now, Dawk is in Denver. Stay tuned.

Editor's note: Click here for an update on the addition of Bengals offensive tackle Stacy Andrews.

Hey morvak, Rice and Emmit did not make the pro bowl right before they left. Montana was replaced with Steve Young. I like Demps, but that's a tall order.

Go, B-Dawk! Take care of your family! If the Eagles gave a good one about you, they would have signed you before the deadline. The only way the fans can adequately show our contempt for the Lurie-Banner organization is to abandon them! They want to be 'competitive' so they can extract our money. Well, I'm extracting it alright! For starters, it will go into a nest egg to off set losses in my 401-K. Although I might pick up a "Dawkins" Bronco jersey!

We all know about the economics that today make it unlikely even a great NFL player will finish his career where he started it. On the other hand, there are exceptions -- John Elway and Michael Strahan are two who come immediately to mind. It would be nice if the Eagles would make Brian Dawkins another of those exceptions. He is worth it.

as me and my friends have said the last few years, once dawk is gone i will no longer root for any players on this team. i will root for the team as a whole and for the symbol on the sleeve, but not any individual players.

Where is McMouth now? Isn't he the assistant or GM? If Thomas and Dawkins are allowed to walk I would like to hear from him and his opinion if this what he meant by adding more weapons.

Can you imagine him coming back to the Linc wearing that ugly Denver uniform?
