Dawkins in Denver

POSTED: Friday, February 27, 2009, 3:56 PM

Agent Jim Steiner has confirmed that free safety Brian Dawkins is visiting the Denver Broncos today. Dawkins, 35, is Philadelphia's longest-tenured pro athlete, and had been considered very likely to re-sign with the Eagles before free agency began at 12:01 Friday morning. That still might happen, but for now, Dawk is in Denver. Stay tuned.

bobbyd- I don't necessarily think that Lurie is all about money. But to answer your question, if the Eagles did win the SB, they won't necessarily make more money because of it, at least not as much as we think. The game won't be played here in Philly so no profits there and any SB memorabilia licensed by the NFL sold is revenue shared, so even the Lions profited from the Steelers win this year. Plus, the Eagles already sell out the games, so it's like a SB win will bring more stadium revenue the next year. I'm sure they will get some money, but based on some of the comments, they're suggesting that it the Eagles don't think it'll be worth paying $40mil that the Eagles have under the cap to win because they won't make $40mil more if they win the SB. Again, not saying that I think Lurie is all about money, but just to clarify, I don't think NFL teams make as much winning a championship than other sports.

I'm holding my breath hoping ifarrell is right and that this is just for Dawkins' sake to make sure he gets what he deserves. A big part of wanting to win so bad is wanting to see that guy raise the trophy

EagleGREENmtnState: Did I read correctly that you said the 49ers were worse for letting Joe Montana leave to play in Kansas City? Surely you remember a man named Steve Young and the super bowl that he won. Right?

what TFk, If I was B. Dawk when I go to the hall of fame I wouldnt even mention the Eagles Organization. Im a Eagles fan but not a organization fan, this people are just taking our money and are not giving us a ring, all they want is the money they dont care our suffering.

That's the reason the players DONT WANT TO COME TO PHILLY, They prefer to go to the Cowboys or the Redskins where they are trully appreciated. OMG... Im depressed, I want to punch someone. I wouldn't blame McNabb if he demands a trade... I deserves better than this clowns in the front office.
