Cowboys didn't like DeSean's end zone antics
Daily News staff
Andy Reid wasn't the only one not thrilled with DeSean Jackson's backwards fall into the end zone at the end of his 91-yard touchdown reception.
Some of the Dallas Cowboys weren't particularly fond of it, either.
``It was disrespectful," cornerback Mike Jenkins said. He knew he was going to score. That's him. We beat him three times in a row last year, so he was going to come back and try to everything he could."
Linebacker Keith Brooking: ``He's a great player. Obviously when you make a play like that, you're going to get excited. I don't think that's the best part of football, but I guess he did.''
Defensive back Orlando Scandrick: “We’re good friends and hang out in the offseason. He’s just being himself. Some people might say a showboat. But we all play this game. It’s fun, and what goes on between those lines gets left out there. Is it disrespectful? Possibly.”

As we told you in today's Daily News, Tashard Choice said the Michael Vick autograph that he got after the game was for his 3-year-old nephew.
Choice immediately went on Twitter to try to quell the negative fan reaction.
He explained further to the Dallas Morning News. Choice said he knew Vick from the time that Vick was in Atlanta with the Falcons and Choice was at Georgia Tech.
"I have nothing but respect for him," Choice said. "I admire somebody who can overcome circumstances and come back and prove people wrong."
Choice continued his apology this morning on Twitter:
"If its anybody that cares about winning and the d cowboys its me. I apologize to the people it was just an innocent gensture for my nephew."

The Eagles apparently had a rough flight up, according to some players.
"Just touched down in Philly," Jamar Chaney wrote. "That was a rough flight. Had to start praying it was so much turbulence."
"That the Lord," DeSean Jackson wrote. "Jus made it safe, one of the worst turbulence I every witness!! Woke us all up out our sleep."

Asante Samuel was back at the NovaCare Complex this morning for treatment on his knee.
We will see what Andy Reid has to say about his status and other injuries at noon. Check back on Eagletarian for more updates.

- Les, "The Cowboys didn't like DeSean's endzone antics." Well guess what, I don't like the Cowboys, so tough. I also don't like Miles Austins antics, and they are just for 1st downs, not touchdowns. I don't care how the Cowboys feel about it, what they say about it, what they thought about it and how they reacted to it.
Scope33 is one of those guys who don't clean up after their pets at the Dog Park in Montco or anywhere else for that matter. He's Entitled, don't ya know!! ROCK ON EAGLES and Mike Vick. annec- The Cowgirls didn't like his antics ????? I'll bet that they didn't like the final score either. jeromie
I'm happy DeSean did what he did. It was great. jimqk
Oh Please......the Cowboys should have been more worried about their losing score......Go Eagles.......Beat them again on the 2nd. philligrl- Hire that Head Coach - he is just average enough to lose consistantly
- Way to go Jackson! Better than T.O. spiking the cowboys star when he was a 49er.
Next time get Mickey Mouse to sign for your THREE YEAR OLD NEPHEW! AHHHHHHHHHHHH, thanks for the laugh! NYPHILLYPHAN
Jackson is one heck of a baby and a show off who thinks he is the best football player out there. I am going to laugh one day when a defensive player knocks hiom out for the season for showing off. That will be the play of the game! MRD- fortunateson seems to forget that the Eagles did play last night, and they flattened the Cowgirl defense into the dirt of their diseased home field in the final minutes. Your DL was schooled and the Eagles officially made your team, now with 9 losses, a loser for 2010. But then, we knew that already. Bob1
it was dallas man... couldn't have happened at a better time BBAX
who cares what the cowgirls like? sgamble077- God Almighty, the Cowgirls sure like to whine, don't they?
Last year, they whipped the Birds up and down the field. Just embarrassed them. Ran it up a little. Preened and showboated. The Eagles learned from it and retooled. Meanwhile, Keith Brooking whined about the Vikings running it up on the 'Pokes in the divisional playoffs the next week. And they're whining because they couldn't stop D-Jax on a quick down & out that went for 91 yards. If you don't want to see him celebrate, DON'T LET HIM SCORE. Duh... Doctor D

The end zone fall was nothing compared to his gangland antics during the post game interview. Really sad. It's getting as bad as the NBA. A guy makes a tackle these days and he has to do a 5-10 second ritual.I mean ain't that what he's supposed to do ? clobal- Antics? Remember who the opponent is. I loved what T.O. did while he was still a 49'er, and danced on their star at midfield. You take the good with the bad. Deasean's game is to play motivated and he is a natural showman, ala T.O. and Ochocinco. Time will come when Deasean cools his act a bit. Don't firget his age, and the fact this is something he has done long before coming to the Eagles. It's about having a winning attitude, playing and running on a bad wheel, and wanting to stay in the game. He is a team guy now, not divisive. Keep doing D-Jax, especially against the Cowgirls. Disrespectful? Turtleneck head Jerry Jones was on the field, grabbing camera time. After Desean, there were no more JJ camera shots. So, Desean did the right thing. Go Eagles!!
Who cares what the stinkin' cowboys think? You don't want Jackson to showboat, then you should have stopped him. Only had 91 yards to do it. Maybe when the Cowboys get some humility, guys like Jackson won't showboat. I was shooting on the sideline when Randall pulled the fake knee pass against Landry. That was Buddy's way of getting back at the boys' varsity stomping the replacement team during the strike year. All the boy's supporters cried, "how could he do that to Tom?" Maybe Mr. Hat should have been a little classier than to keep his first string in against a bunch of sandlot players. I don't go for hot dogs, except against Dallas. mike l

Here's an idea Dallas....If you don't like Jackson's touchdown dance, then stop him from getting there. Can't wait for January 2. eaglestravis

It's easy to say after the game, that you didn't like Jackson's actions. The Cowboys' defenders gave up on the play, so more power to a guy showing them up. Since Jackson got a penalty, frankly they shouldn't really have said anything. The Eagles showed last night that despite some miscues, that they have one of the top teams in the NFC, if not the league. It's going to take a really tough D to stop them, and I'm not sure Atlanta has it. 76erfn- I hate turbulence.
The biggest HOT DOG to play in Dallas was Irvin. Glad to see him carted off the Vet turf. Not enough of mustard to cover him. Fast Eddie
I find Andy McReid's appearance to be offensive, in addition to many players' attempts to coerce people into believing their religious preferences by pointing to the sky. It was a pretty passive endzone entry - what's the big deal? Liberty4All
I would love to see the Eagles run out of bounds when Jerry Jones is on the side line and take his knees out. That creep should stay up in his box where he belongs. Fast Eddie- This is much to do about nothing. If the Cowgirls don't like DeSean's antics than they should keep him out of the end zone. delcodanno

DeSean just helps other teams get jacked up for the Eagles. He doesn't want to be Jerry Rice. He wants to be Terrell Owens. The play spoke for itself, and people would still be talking about it, but now they're talking about what an idiot he is. Ultimately he may cost himself $10 million in the NFL by trying to be Owens or Ochocinco, instead of Rice. Smart teams are wary about spending too much money on the divas. tacklinjoe
Then stop him. MattKnife

What do you or anybody expect from him. He is what he is. He needs the attention Badley, and his type will get it if they can. look for more too. Reids can't handle his own family how can he handle some one under him else. wes- Scope33, you obviously dont read this site all that often. There is a LARGE percentage of Eagle fans that STILL dont like Vick and there is a decent amount of fans that have given up their season tickets because of Vick. Please leave your uneducated comments on a Texas newspaper site. Thank you.
If Dallas doesnt like it.. stop him from getting in the end zone and stop with all the crying Cowgirls. teebone40
Hey Dallas: you want to stop his antics, STOP HIM!
KING~out thee~KING- Since when are the Dallas cowboys demanding respect? Because they play in a glitzy stadium? Because they are the cowboys? So we're supposed to respect them simply by divine right? They're a 4-9 football team with an owner half the local populace and the country hates....we'll give you respect when you do something to deserve it.
If the crying were from any team, other than the cowgirls, I might see their point. But the cgs are such a bunch of crybabies, who cares what they think. Remember last year when Brooking cried in the playoffs. Typical spoiled girlymen?? chucksf
As long as he doesn't let it go to his head like Ochowhatever and his partner He Who Shall Go Unamed then keep celebrating! crosswiredmind
As soon as I saw that the Cowboys had problems with his antics, knew Brooking would have been one of the whiners. vipers53
Goofy's air guitar move couldn't hold a candle to the back flop. escapedcamden4monterey- Once again, Over_exposed = Over_Analyzed
TWO HUNDRED TEN yards. What's not to love?
Bazalite
FOR ALL OF YOU PEOPLE CALLING DJAX A JERK AND ALL OF THOSE OTHER TYPES OF THINGS YOU REALLY NEED TO PUMP YOUR BRAKES...HE IS 24 YEARS OLD, JUST TURNED 24 OF COURSE HE IS A LITTLE IMMATURE...WHO ARE YOU KNUCKLEHEADS TO JUDGE THE GUY YOU DONT KNOW HIM PERSONALLY. YES HE NEEDS TO GROW UP, BUT WHO DIDNT ACT LIKE A FOOL AT TIME WHEN THEY WERE 24????????? trelle
I would have loved it if DeSean started dancing on the star. That would have been legendary. On another note, end zone celebrations are a lost art now because the NFL wants to water down the league and make it a product rather than letting the players make it their own. Props to DeSean for being himself and sticking it to man. No more company men, like Donovan. He was cool too before he started to conform. DonovanMcNabb
Funny, I don't remember Cowboys players criticizing teammates for "disrespectful" scoring antics when they were penalized in consecutive weeks for end zone celebrations... Raggamonkey- You know what they say, if you have a problem with how somebody's endzone antics, THEN KEEP HIM OUTTA THE END ZONE!! I for one have always supported DJax as long as he keeps producing on the field, and 210 yards and the game-changing TD is certainly producing in my book! That said, I hope somebody shows him that montage NBC did about his celebrations (from the ridiculous botched flip in the HS All-American game, to the Dallas 1-yard line episode, to last night) because I've gotta believe if he saw them all grouped together like that, he'd realize how just how dumb he looks. I doubt he'll go Barry Sanders style and just give the ball back to the ref, but some middle ground would be nice
Over_Exposed- ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.............. PHILLYT2LA- People need to back off of DJax, people are two sensitive. That’s why the NFL is jacked up now. Why is there even a rule about TD celebrations? I remember when players were known for the end zone celebrates. They would even have them on video games. Now because people want to cry all the time, everything is a penalty. DJax is being himself. I found it very funny. Nobody was crying when the Falcons were doing the dirty bird all the time. How about Deon “Primetime” Sanders! Eagles knew who they were drafting.
- This is hilarious. The idiot Cowgirl fans below and their loser players complaining? Jerry Jones, the NFL's resident creep, is ON THE SIDELINE STANDING WITH THE PLAYERS for most of the second half. Upstaging and disrupting the coach, assistants and players themselves! DeSean, you didn't do ENOUGH. You should have concussed Jones, grabbed him by his hips and wiped his backside on the 50 yard line star. It would have been a favor to the Dallas coach. Bob1
Scope33- You're a tool. No one supports what Vick did. But I fully support his right to pay his debt (as he has done)and move on and be left the hell alone. EAGLES BABY!!!!! How bout them Cowboys??? LMFAO!!!! PHILLYT2LA
It should be illegal for professional athletes to publicly post their thoughts & ideas on twitter. Don't complain about being called a "dumb" athlete when you possess the grammar and spelling skills of a six year old. Everyone makes typos, but if thousands of people are following me on twitter, I'm going to double check whatever I wrote to be sure that it makes some semblance of sense. DixonBunz
This from the team that had Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin... davesju93
Some of you expect more class and dignity from a football player than you do you're own elected officials. These guys are paid to run down field as bash each others heads in, they're not representatives of me or the state of Pennsylvania. Get a life, expect more from the people you elect, not a 25 year old player that is just having fun. gditty
I personally dont see anything wrong with what he did after the TD, I was hoping he would go over and do his little dance on the star in the end zone.....this was the cherry on top of the jerry jones sunday so to speak....lol bigeagle57

Next time, Jackson should quietly give the ball to the ref, then after the game go up to Brookins and ask for his autograph SaganRand
The celebration was a little much but Brooking is the biggest baby. He is the same guy who went after the Vikings after they scored a touchdown and the same guy who went on a radio show, committed to do an interview, and then blasted the host because he said the Cowboys stunk. He is a baby! oharabri
1. Stupid call: There's absolutely NOTHING against the rules with 'diving' into the endzone. Jackson's mistake? doing in Dallass vs Jerry's Pukes. The League just can't stand to see the League's favorite team lose. 2. Rule: is typically enforced on 'group-celebrations' (anybody remember the Redskins when 8 idiots would gather around and to a circle-jerk?), also if you directly taunt a player (wave the ball in face routine, or walk up to a guy and trash talk, which is/was designed to cut down on fights breaking out when the girls have their feelings hurt). So, you're in Dallass, vs the NFL's very own Cowgirls, you just gotta know the rules WILL be different. It's been that way the entire 40+ years I've been folllowing this game, it'll never change. Look around the league highlights the next couple weeks, I promise you will see at least a dozen more blatant 'celebrations' that are NOT penalized. Go Birds!!! and "How bout them Cowgirls"???!!!! SaganRand
Watching DeSean mugging for the camera like some nitwit at Chickie and Pete's while they were trying to interview Vick was kind of embarrassing. Come on, bro...be a professional, be a grownup. And when you score a TD, act like you've been there before. That 15 yard penalty could set the Cowboys up to come right back. We play these jackwipes again in a couple weeks. Don't add fuel to their fire. dasher
The cowgirls should stop cryin and look at some film from the Michael Irvin days, I didn't hear them cryin about showboating back then and they should shut up now. Jake711
End zone celebrating would have been OK if it does'nt cause your team to be penalized like it did for our team. There were many "should have been" calls the refs failed to catch. Oh well, we WON and proud of the Eagles. Yeah!! Next in sight...Giants. Go Team. jo4210
I saw the celebration and DeSean stopped about 4 inches from the goal line. If announcer Chris Collingsworth was correct, and that he was allowed to "dive into the endzone" then can the NFL explain why a penalty was called. It would be one thing if he was in the endzone and did the backflip but if the backflip carried him into the end zone, then no penalty should have been called. Readers, what do you think about this. TheGuyfromPhilly
Jackson is an immature jerk who puts his antics ahead of just playing the game with class. How old is that guy anyway that he acts that way?
Ill bet he spends the day texting ,on the cell, watching Sponge Bob playing videos, and practising new ways to celebrate.
Yes I know the tailgaters are saying so who cares as long as the Eagles win.Actually ther e are some people do care about the classless behavior that has become culture in the NFL. gardner
It's a 'hood thing. Dam good player. He's just a punk. A dumb punk at that. I don't care how much he shoots his mouth, off the field but drawing penalties, when he knows that he absolutely is going to get a penalty shows his character. abnrgr- @farley, first of all, De-Jax doesn't want to be T.No. He is his own personality. Second of all, how is he disrespecting the game? Remember the Icky Shuffle? The Gi-Nots with their "Ballin'" moves two years ago? Peon Deion's Dance in the endzone? Please. Disrespecting the game is NOT what he was doing. DeSean was celebrating. Maybe you don't recognize it because the league wants to stop as much fun stuff as they can. The League should be concentrating on the CBA so that there will be football next year.
- boo-friggin-hoo potus
Soooo 3 Dallas players, who all were on the field at the time Jackson made the play, are all complaining? Funny, if they didn't want him to "disrespect" them, then maybe they should have tackled him. It's also funny that no one has a problem with Miles Austin after he celebrates after every first down. At least Desean made a play worth celebrating about. I have more of a problem with the fact that people make this such a big deal, it certainly is becoming the No Fun League. Get over it... EaglesBleedMoney- For a guy who once started his celebration 2 yards too soon and add the fact that three weeks ago he was crying about the ball, I would be more gracious in my celebrations. Not saying he needs to be like Barry Sanders handing the ball back to the ref but just remember that what goes around comes around rvb2321

- i cant front, i loved the celebration. f dallas. the more they wine the better. cant say ANYTHING to a player who has over 200 yards. sorry. djack is definitely a diva. but thats his right. its ENTERTAINMENT people!

Why can't some people just let the players have fun? OOOOOH he fell in the end zone backwards. Personally I thought it was dumb. He could have done something much more fun. But does any of that stuff bother me, nope. Wish it didn't bother anyone else too! skolman

But does any of that stuff bother me, nope. Wish it didn't bother anyone else too! skolman- Fugue em all. Go look at the archives of cowgirlz showboaters like Neon Peon Deon, then come back with something.
I'll take 15 yards in exchange for a play like that every time. the bigger idiot is the dope who ran around the endzone like a mouse in a maze and then threw a punch. That almost cost us the game. joeibt
The Cowboys didn't like an opposing player celebrating in their stadium after a TD!! Imagine that!! PHTNPHLS
I love the Eagles but I can't stand watching this Terrell Ownens want-a -be disrepecting the game. Jackson is only one more concussion away from being a spectator. I remember an early SuperBowl when the Packers clocked a loudmouth jerk on the Raiders and the microphone picked up their laughter when he was carted off the field. Jackson is small and frail and now opponents are out to hurt him. farley
Who cares what the stinking cowgirls think ? It is bush to see thier owner on the sidelines acting like a little girl...and then diappearing when they lose....What a front-running meddling has-been owner.....and for the record nobody is more obnoxious than the cowgirls and their talk of playing for the Super Bowl in thier own stadium BEFORE they won anything......Talk about stupid claswsless infantile drivel.....but then that is what the cowgirls are.... nuggett
Remember when Lennox Lewis whipped the tar out of Mike Tyson and then Tyson wiped the sweat from Lewis's brow during the post-fight interview? That's what Choice looked like, toadying up to Micahel Vick. The Eagles have their heart. Next game they win by 20. Rowland
One day a Don Beebe will pull a Leon Lett on him. I know If i was a DB i would follow him to the end zone just incase. Norm3
No need to worry "what if" Scope33, just keep hating on Vick. Vick nation needs u to hate, so we can use u for ur energy. Stalker. salt
Scope33- Your own player is getting autographs from Vick. If you're so upset about fans embracing Vick. You need to start in your own house and stay out of ours. PhillyFanSouth
Hey Scope33, I was hoping that HE'D PULL A TO and spike the ball on YOUR BELOVED STAR! FairmountFrank
The plunge is something we'll remember forever, an indulgent lil' cherry atop an excellent sunday. (Excuse the pun.) Leegles
Hypocrite Eagles fans are ok with Jackson's antics just like they are ok with dog torturing. If Vick and Jackson were Cowboys I wonder how "forgiving" Eagles fans would be. Scope33
I thought the end zone celebration was too much, but then, I thought the Cowboys practically convulsing in the Eagles' backfield every time they made a stop for no gain was too much, too. Why do they get to decide what was appropriate and what wasn't, they lost on their home field. anodyne
If it had been against any other team, I would think DeSean's move was classless. But since it was against the Dallas Cowboys and on Jerry Jones field, it was one of the best things I have ever seen happen on a football field, and I enjoy the replay every single time I see it. AreaMan- I wish Desean would grow up a little bit, but I love what does on the field. That being said, I also had to turn off his post-game interview, pretty bad. Alot of kids look up to athlete, I dont know if they are "supposed" to be rolemodels, but for a lot of kids they are. Why paint a number on your back? Desean is too small to make every LB and Saftey gunning for him miss! Please grow up Desean, because I remember in his rookie year, when we played Dallas, his stupid antics momentarily cost the Birds a TD, by throwing ball backwards before the score. Let your ability and athleticism do all your talking. Desean was MIA in both defeats last year and I still have bad taste in my mouth from those losses. Desean, if you want that huge contract and all that guaranteed money, you have to grow up or people are going to hesitate in giving you that long contract. Just keep doing what your doing, play the game right, and let the cheerleaders do the showboating and the "over the top" celebrations. Nothing wrong with being happy and excited after an important score, but be A MAN ABOUT IT! Great game, now time to get ready for Giants. I hope Minny can a do us a solid and beat those Giants. The Eagles could really use a BYE for the playoffs and a game at home. But, having a week off will be huge to get guys healthy after a very tough and physical season. Vick has been battered, might be time to run alittle more unless Andy wants to risk injury to the "franchise" because thats exactly what Vick represents right now!
I wonder how great he would have felt about his flop if it had cost them something in points coming back at the team? TBear
I love Desean, but I thought the fall into the endzone was over the top. That being said....the reason he was able to do it was because that STIFF Mike Jenkins quit on the play. Watch him stop running. That will be his view of #10 in 3 weeks too mcat13
DESEAN should just keep being DESEAN. DON'T change anything! FairmountFrank
