Cowboys didn't like DeSean's end zone antics

POSTED: Monday, December 13, 2010, 10:10 AM

Andy Reid wasn't the only one not thrilled with DeSean Jackson's backwards fall into the end zone at the end of his 91-yard touchdown reception.

Some of the Dallas Cowboys weren't particularly fond of it, either.

``It was disrespectful," cornerback Mike Jenkins said. He knew he was going to score. That's him. We beat him three times in a row last year, so he was going to come back and try to everything he could."

Linebacker Keith Brooking: ``He's a great player. Obviously when you make a play like that, you're going to get excited. I don't think that's the best part of football, but I guess he did.''

Defensive back Orlando Scandrick: “We’re good friends and hang out in the offseason. He’s just being himself. Some people might say a showboat. But we all play this game. It’s fun, and what goes on between those lines gets left out there. Is it disrespectful? Possibly.”

As we told you in today's Daily News, Tashard Choice said the Michael Vick autograph that he got after the game was for his 3-year-old nephew.

Choice immediately went on Twitter to try to quell the negative fan reaction.

He explained further to the Dallas Morning News. Choice said he knew Vick from the time that Vick was in Atlanta with the Falcons and Choice was at Georgia Tech.

"I have nothing but respect for him," Choice said. "I admire somebody who can overcome circumstances and come back and prove people wrong."

Choice continued his apology this morning on Twitter:

"If its anybody that cares about winning and the d cowboys its me. I apologize to the people it was just an innocent gensture for my nephew."

The Eagles apparently had a rough flight up, according to some players.

"Just touched down in Philly," Jamar Chaney wrote. "That was a rough flight. Had to start praying it was so much turbulence."

"That the Lord," DeSean Jackson wrote. "Jus made it safe, one of the worst turbulence I every witness!! Woke us all up out our sleep."

Asante Samuel was back at the NovaCare Complex this morning for treatment on his knee.

We will see what Andy Reid has to say about his status and other injuries at noon. Check back on Eagletarian for more updates.

You know what they say, if you have a problem with how somebody's endzone antics, THEN KEEP HIM OUTTA THE END ZONE!! I for one have always supported DJax as long as he keeps producing on the field, and 210 yards and the game-changing TD is certainly producing in my book! That said, I hope somebody shows him that montage NBC did about his celebrations (from the ridiculous botched flip in the HS All-American game, to the Dallas 1-yard line episode, to last night) because I've gotta believe if he saw them all grouped together like that, he'd realize how just how dumb he looks. I doubt he'll go Barry Sanders style and just give the ball back to the ref, but some middle ground would be nice

Funny, I don't remember Cowboys players criticizing teammates for "disrespectful" scoring antics when they were penalized in consecutive weeks for end zone celebrations...

I would have loved it if DeSean started dancing on the star. That would have been legendary. On another note, end zone celebrations are a lost art now because the NFL wants to water down the league and make it a product rather than letting the players make it their own. Props to DeSean for being himself and sticking it to man. No more company men, like Donovan. He was cool too before he started to conform.

Goofy's air guitar move couldn't hold a candle to the back flop.

As soon as I saw that the Cowboys had problems with his antics, knew Brooking would have been one of the whiners.

If the crying were from any team, other than the cowgirls, I might see their point. But the cgs are such a bunch of crybabies, who cares what they think. Remember last year when Brooking cried in the playoffs. Typical spoiled girlymen??

Since when are the Dallas cowboys demanding respect? Because they play in a glitzy stadium? Because they are the cowboys? So we're supposed to respect them simply by divine right? They're a 4-9 football team with an owner half the local populace and the country hates....we'll give you respect when you do something to deserve it.

Scope33, you obviously dont read this site all that often. There is a LARGE percentage of Eagle fans that STILL dont like Vick and there is a decent amount of fans that have given up their season tickets because of Vick. Please leave your uneducated comments on a Texas newspaper site. Thank you.

What do you or anybody expect from him. He is what he is. He needs the attention Badley, and his type will get it if they can. look for more too. Reids can't handle his own family how can he handle some one under him else.
