The Eagles-Colts connection has struck again.

Indianapolis signed former Eagles center/guard Mike McGlynn to a contract. McGlynn was with the Eagles from 2008 to 2010 and started 14 games in 2010.

New Colts general manager Ryan Grigson was in the Eagles' front office during that time.

McGlynn spent last season with the Cincinnati Bengals, playing in seven games with four starts.

Here is ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski on what the expected addition of Peyton Manning means to the Denver Broncos:

“Everyone just got better, particularly on the offensive side.  If you’re Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas, wide receivers, you are just thrilled because the ball is going to come out with perfect timing in every single play.  If you’re Knowshon Moreno or Willis McGahee or someone they draft, you know you’re always going to run into good looks, because if you get eight in the box, Peyton is going to get out the play and throw the ball down the field. … Besides the skills set, the intelligence set, all players around him know they got a better quarterback.”

Former Redskins safety LaRon Landry has agreed to a 1-year deal, $4 million deal with the New York Jets, according to reports.

Landry has played in only 17 games the past two seasons because of an Achilles tendon injury, and  hamstring and groin ailments. He also visited the New England Patriots before signing on with the Jets.

The Eagles are seemingly in need of safety help, but stayed away from Landry, given his injury history.

“After spending time with the organization as a whole, I just felt that signing with the Jets was the right thing to do," Landry told reporters, per the New York Daily News.

Unless the Eagles come up with an alternative, the Daily News' Paul Domowitch wrote this week that he would be in favor of moving linebacker Keenan Clayton to safety. Clayton was a safety at Oklahoma until being switched to linebacker after his sophomore year.
