Cole's no turkey ...

POSTED: Saturday, May 10, 2008, 10:04 PM

.. but the Eagles defensive end did spend Saturday with the governor of his home state of Ohio for the Ohio Governor's Youth Celebrity Spring Turkey Hunt in Zanesville. Cole grew up in Xenia, Ohio, and went to Cincinnati before being drafted by the Birds.

"It's a great accomplishment for me, and share something that somebody passed on to me. I feel like I'm obligated to pass it on down to the youth. That's what I'm here for," Cole told WHIZ-TV.

Cole enjoyed hunting wild turkey during his youth and continues to hunt turkey and deer. He also has established a production company and Web site for Cole Outdoor Productions with "the dream of allowing his close friends and family to pursue their passion of hunting and share those moments with others."

The Eagles, of course, hope he continues to hunt quarterbacks.
