Right now, it doesn't much matter -- we all know Nick Foles is scheduled to start Sunday in Green Bay -- but Eagles coach Chip Kelly took a distinctively gloomier tone discussing Michael Vick's status when Kelly spoke with reporters Thursday.

Kelly said Vick remains limited in practice and isn't able to do even 7-on-7 work yet, as he tries to overcome a twice-strained left hamstring. Kelly refused to name Foles the starter Sunday, probably just to annoy the media, but it was clear Vick is nowhere near playing. This could become relevant very quickly, should Foles lapse into his Dallas game funk, or get concussed again. The Eagles host the improving Redskins next week, then have the bye. At this point, you have to wonder if letting Vick heal through the bye wouldn't be the best course.

Kelly indicated he is very pleased with the run blocking of left tackle Jason Peters, who is playing with an assortment of minor injuries. He said defensive lineman Cedric Thornton, who did not practice Wednesday with a knee problem, is scheduled to practice today, and that the same holds true for corner Bradley Fletcher (pectoral) who has been limited in practice this week.

The Eagles worked indoors because of showers.
