Challenge Denied; Birds Lead

The Eagles have a 27-26 fourth-quarter lead after San Francisco's challenge of David Akers' 38-yard field goal was denied.

Challenge Denied; Birds Lead

Well, the Eagles have come back from the dead and are leading 30-26, just barely. David Akers' 38-yard field goal over the right upright was challenged, but held up on review. Then Quintin Mikell ran a J.T. O'Sullivan pick back to the 49ers' 7, but the offense didn't take the opportunity to put the game away and Akers ended up kicking a 25-yarder for a four-point lead with 5:14 left.

Couple observations: The defense has its mojo back. Correll Buckhalter is a warrior. And it doesn't really matter how the Eagles win this, if they can just get to the bye at 3-3, on a day when the Redskins have lost.
