Bradley not worried about Flight Night curse
Les Bowen, Daily News Staff Writer
Stewart Bradley missed practice all of Sunday and on Monday morning with a mild hamstring injury, a speed bump in his road back. In training camp last year - 367 days ago, in fact - Bradley blew out his knee and missed the season, leaving the Birds to founder all season in search of a middle linebacker.
"It felt good. It was nice to get out there and run around. Just glad to get back on the field," Bradley said yesterday, his first real work since the injury occurred Saturday.
He didn't seem hindered during, but then he hasn't seemed hindered since camp began.
"That first day was definitely [spheroids] to the wall. I feel good; everything is structurally sound," Bradley said. Could the 2 days off be a blessing? "You never know."
When Bradley left the field Saturday, Moise Fokou was the SAM linebacker beside him. Now it seems to be former WIL starter Akeem Jordan.
"Me and Akeem have been playing together since [I] was drafted. He and Moise are both great linebackers," Bradley said. "Competition across the board makes us better as a defense. It's a real battle right now."
The battle will continue tomorrow night, when the Eagles practice at Lincoln Financial Field in front of paying fans on Flight Night, their annual training-camp charity event - at which Bradley blew out his knee.
That will not affect his participation, he said.
"I don't think there's any jinx or curse," he said. "I'm not superstitious."

DeSean Jackson, who has not spoken to the media in training camp, is making progress from his back injury suffered Saturday. Coach Andy Reid said Jackson should be ready in a few days.
Jackson's view came via Twitter last night: "Long day of rehab and meetings I'm suppa tired now... Sooo tha PLAY-MAK'A call'n it a night... Gettn better progress is the key... "

The statement of Bradley’s that was changed in this piece does not refer to a part of the male anatomy. It refers to the rapid acceleration that occurs when a pilot pushes the ball-shaped throttle handle all the way to the panel (wall). witmand
Huh, never knew that witmand. Thanks. Echo
You should look up the origin of "balls to the wall", it doesn't mean what you think it does. Someguy4444
Agreed Jay Grace...the league is trying to limit meaningless preseason games and the Eagles are trying to add them...if you want to do something for charity have them play something non contact like flag football or skills tests...I dont want to lose anyone to injury again in a game that doesnt matter. traugdog420- I don't think they are adding a day of hitting for this event, just taking a day they would normally hit and do it in front of the fans for charity.
whitmand - you are the biggest dork this side of the Mississippi... EaglesBleedMoney
Just another chance for more Eagles to get injured. What is Reid thinking??? Both wideouts hurt, Samuel hurt, Bell hurt, who's next? Seriously Reid must have manure for his brains but working them this hard so early. Tacklebury
Flight night is a normal practice...just played at night in front of more fans. You girls need to stop complaining about injuries already! cous76
Better yet...let's cancel training camp and guess who's the best. cous76
By the time the season starts all the Eagles will have left to take the field is the equivalent of the 1987 strike replacement team. Everyone else will be on Andy's injury list. Should make for some long press conferences. SteveS11
Stop whining...my god is this comment thread a bunch of teenage girls? This is FOOTBALL!!!! cous76- Can't even be considered a curse until you have, you know, like a history of injuries at a certain event. Add up all the injuries that were caused by collision or a tackle and you have a very low number. Most of the injuries happened without contact. Jackson and Bradley were injured during non contact drills.
Cous76 - Right On!!! M60tanker
Which side of the Mississippi would that be, EaglesBleedMoney? If you are going to slam someone without explanation, at least spell correctly. What's your source, Someguy4444? See: http://www.slate.com/id/2136001. witmand
