Eagles middle linebacker Stewart Bradley is not saying he will be back from a torn ACL for the playoffs, even though his Twitter feed did say that.
Eagles fans following Bradley's feed were excited today to read, in the wake of Tuesday's repair done by Dr. James Andrews in Alabama, "Dr Andrews is a miracle worker, everything went great. Thanks for all the well wishes. Be back in December and ready for playoffs!"
Since there has been quite a bit of trouble with athletes' Twitter feeds that turned out not to be athletes' Twitter feeds, your Eagletarian texted and then called an Eagles spokesman to check this out, getting no response. Then I texted ol' Stew (sorry, Andy.) Stew said he was not confirming the tweet, that "my boy Nate has my account info, he Tweeted that, not me."
Which, of course, brings up the question of whether Nate was just Twittering with us, or accurately reflecting what his boy Stew had told him ... not necessarily for public consumption? We texted Stew on that matter. Still waiting for an answer, oddly enough.
Our thinking? Where there's Tweet, there's fire.
UPDATING: An Eagles spokesman, asked if the team wanted to comment, replied that in the Eagles' view, Bradley's is a "6-to-12-month injury."
So that would be a "no" on the Stew return scenario, since six months from the date of the surgery is still four days after the Super Bowl, Feb. 7, 2010. We'll still be watching for the team to officially place Bradley on IR, though, something that has not yet happened.

All irrelevant, he'll be on the IR shortly so he won't be coming back, just sayin'... DJ
Didn't they put Bradley on IR? tpizza
that's pretty much correct there djack10... in fact, about the only way you could be a bigger tool is if you were to leave a comment about someone elses comment, on a blog about a tweet that prompted a text... oTTo the CzAR- Who is Eagles MLB at this point?
- Get one of them hyper-TO-chambers that had 81 back for the superbowl with a broken Wheel. Maybe that will speed things up. Boo Yah! azguz
this is a little ridiculous. we're now reading blog accounts about tweets and whether or not there was a text message confirmation of said tweet. i guess then commenting on said blog makes me the biggest tool of them all. (along with the others posting) djack10
Bringing up AR's kids...dude..I hope you have kids some day...and if you do, hope they behave like you want them too..that was the most assinine comment I ever read...... merlinknghts

Is there a bigger punk in the Philly media than Les Bowen? sorry but true
Yay posted at last \o/ I take it back UKEagle
Once again my comments go missing :-( UK IP address maybe? UKEagle
Lets go at least 10-6 before we worry about whether we want our yound and talented MLB in for a playoff game fresh off a ACL injury that see's most people out for 10 months + I think we can spend our time more usefully... worrying about the O Line >_< UKEagle
les, thank you for texting the athletes to clear this up. this doesn't make you a dork, it makes you a good reporter. well written article. good points by both jimg and tim kerr also. kappadonna
let's make the playoffs FIRST Remember Tim Kerr
Like he could accurately predict when he'll be back anyway...even the doctors can't do that. Depends on how his rehab goes. JimG- either of the Reid boys anywher near the athletes ?? daveH
Why be a dork and get involved with texting him? Once again, Philly media blowing things out of proportion. TheMan
