Birds Roster Shuffle: Ross Released
Les Bowen, Daily News Staff Writer
The Eagles have a little more roster massaging than usual to do this year, with a whopping 13 drafted rookies; the draftees don't count toward the roster limit until they sign, so the team was able to bring in way more players for OTAs than it will welcome at Lehigh July 26. Today, with three draftees left to sign, the team announced it has released rookie free agent corner Devin Ross, from Arizona. A team source said one more player will have to be released for the Birds to sign all the remaining draftees -- fifth-round wideout Riley Cooper, second-round corner Nate Allen, and first-round defensive end Brandon Graham.
Cooper ought to get done pretty quickly. Second- and first-round signings tend to be tougher, with more money involved and agents wanting to see what the players drafted near their clients are getting before they commit.
Last year, first-round pick Jeremy Maclin missed a week of training camp, more or less because his agent didn't want to do a deal until some comparable deals got done, regardless of what the Eagles offered.
I often see posters commenting on the fact that there is no substance in the articles. First, covering the Eagles has to be tough since the team says nothing. Nothing! Next, there are no stories right now but people like all of us who read this article are hungry for anything. That is what the reporters are giving us.....anything they got. hawk18

Not Suprised by that move but it is Funny how redskins fans can show up on an Eagles website and write some of the dumbest things. McNabb will be lucky to make it to week 8 with his injury history. McNabb has not played a full season in 6 years so what does that tell you. briandawkins20- Are we really starting year 2 with m. vick?? he's presence makes me like the birds less...a lot less.
Oh, what a great team!!! Only the Eagles spend three of their first four draft picks on defensive ends. How many defensive ends can you put on the field at one time? The Eagles are short on defensive backs, linebackers who can actually tackle running backs and interior lineman, but hey, they have no shortage of defensive ends. Maybe Reid thinks he can have six defensive linemen on the field at one time? Fans had better start waking up how bad this franchise has become in a hurry. On the bright side, the Eagles will start having better draft picks after this season. Fire Banner and Reid!! RunningTheBases
Jay Grace----set your alarm for Sept Romus- Good thing this team is deep at corner. Oh wait...
You're right Phil, Vick is hardly garbage. he aspires ot the level of garbage. He is what garbage defecates. justacarpenter
Vick is a piece of garbage. He keeps insisting he didn't realize fighting and brutaly executing dogs was wrong. Liar or moron, niether is good. Bad person, thug, criminal. Denied any wrong doing until the day he was sentenced, poor dispicable Mike Vick. Still hailed as a hero in the city. Klambake

So looks like we are down to 5 people that won't get over this whole Michael Vick thing, down about 4 people from last years total of 9...congrats people, you have no lives and continue to whine and cry about "how vick is a piece of garbage". Question for you people: Does your opinion really matter when it comes to who a Pro Football decided to have on their team? Nope, now shut up please it's old news... EaglesBleedMoney
