Birds Change Cap Analyst

The Eagles this morning confirmed that salary cap analyst Adam Katz has left the team, replaced by Derron Harris.
Most Eagles fans have never heard of Katz, but he played a role in negotiating contracts. Of course, this past season the NFL lacked a cap for him to analyze, but that should change under a new CBA, whenever one is reached. Katz's departure was first reported by Adam Caplan of Fox Sports.
Meanwhile, the extended talks toward that new CBA are to resume today in Washington, at 3 pm, and are expected to last well into the night.

- uhh, actually there are totally valid arguments for calling them "cheap" , I never make the argument much because there is a salary cap and you have to stay under it. but the way the spend the money is totally questionable (IE. not signing boldin because andy admitted himself that it would 'hurt on both ends too much'...meaning losing a first round pick and paying him 10 mil a year) so instead they take maclin with that first round pick and sign him to a much cheaper rookie deal. I think McNabb would have wanted a huge Boldin to throw the ball up to against the cowboys those last two games instead of a small rookie in maclin who he said himself "showed his youth". They do stupid things like that, not spending big money on key free agents enough of the time (julius peppers was available...they pass and instead signed a bunch of rookie DE's one has done nothing the other a torn ACL his first season. peppers helped his team beat the eagles and also helped advance his team further in the playoffs then the eagles. and yes they spend on some free agents, TO, and assante, but they often pass up good players, my guess is because they fear some guys arent dumb enough to go along with andys stupid 60% all-pass playcalling so they instead try to indoctrine some unsuspecting rookies who are just happy to be in the league with a team. (they are also cheaper then veteran free agents.) or they sign guys who have serious injuries who are cheaper, and less likely to question anything as again, they are just happy to be getting an offer from a team.
its debatable whether the eagles are "Cheap" but its definetaly a fair argument, and its not as dumb as blindly sticking to one of the dumbest head coaches I have ever seen in the league. good guy. but not a good playcaller, and not good at motivating his guys in the big games in the playoffs. not gonna win a SB. EVER.

- Nor does dissent..but that doesn't stop anybody around here. I'm a true fan. All that I want is a championship. PERIOD. But to come on here or the radio or wherever else and complain about every single thing that this organization does without regard to anything factual does not represent being a fan. It represents stupidity. This team isn't cheap. They make mistakes with personnel. They've made mistakes in the draft...they've missed on free agent signings. But never has that occurred because of frugality. They just flat out messed up. Maybe they need to change their offensive or defensive philosophy....maybe the coach needs to go. You could make any and all of those arguments. But to call them cheap makes you look like a dope. To complain about their "secrecy" makes you look like a dope. If you are going to be "a true fan"....then at least know what the hell you are talking about.— adzack3441

I guess other teams are now tendering their Cap Analyst to keep the Eagles from raiding their Bean Counters!
