Vick or Favre? Which one was the bigger story nationally?
According to Nielsen Buzzmetrics, which measures the mention of a topic in all blogs in the country, Michael Vick's deal with the Eagles was mentioned in nearly 25 percent of blogs, while Brett Favre's was mentioned in 18 percent, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The Eagles announced the Vick signing on Aug. 13. Favre told the Vikings he was coming out of retirement to join them on Aug. 18.
Despite all the attention Vick's return to an NFL regular-season game garnered last week, it is Packers-Vikings on "Monday Night Football," so the ESPN machine will be pumping at full steam.

Michael Vick was in Southwest Washington, D.C., yesterday to speak at a church about his past and continue his appearances in conjunction with the Humane Society of America.
Vick hit on familiar themes from past events, although this time his message was not specifically delivered to a group of youngsters. He has made two public appearances in Philadelphia at schools. The Humane Society also wants Vick to speak at churches, especially in the inner city.
"I didn't care what I was doing," Vick said, according to the Washington Post. "I didn't care about what was happening or if I got caught or exposed. I never thought about the animals. I was only interested in my own amusement. Something so pointless. I can't even comprehend why I did it."

The speculation about Vick's future with the Eagles continue, especially among the NFL national pundits.
"I don't believe he will be a Philadelphia Eagle next year because of his contract status," Boomer Esiason said Sunday on the NFL Today. "They'll have to pay him over $5 million if they want to keep him. I do believe he will be a starting quarterback in this league, and it will be on another team."

Kevin Kolb will be named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his 24-for-34, 327-yard, two-touchdown performance against Kansas City, the Eagles said.
Kolb is the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for more than 300 yards in his first two starts.
Kolb now must go back to watching Donovan McNabb play, with McNabb apparently healed from a broken rib suffered in the season opener.

Comment removed.- but what will you do as Vick's role continues to be meaningless? will you continue to avoid footbball reporting by keeping him as your headline? (rhetorical question - am sure you sheep reporters can't answer that until the latest twitter stats are released.) raoool

Was McNabb wrong last year? The defense cost the team a trip to the SB, not McNabb. Eilex826- Philly10.. if that woman stands on a street corner with that shirt on, the constitution protects her rights. Not in a private facility. Just ask all the people who used to get tossed out of events where the former Prez was speaking, they'll tell you.
Hey, Philly10, If you ever look on the back of a ticket it says the organization has a right to to admit entry for any reason or something to that extent. Believe me the organization thought this out in anticipation of this happening. That fan should of kept her butt at home instead of trying to make a spectacle of herself! Philly Squid
Philly 10 - your right to free speach says the GOVERNMENT cannot interfere with POLITICAL speech. That's it. The fan's anti-Vick shirt is not protected in any way. Do you know what it said? If the message used obscene or disturbing language, I'd be glad they didn't let her in. People bring their kids to games. I wouldn't want my kids seeing an obscene message even if I agreed with what it said. Even if the message was tame, they can bar anyone they want from the games. TGRE
All you Vick haters, Kolb haters, and McNabb haters ... how much community service do you do ? Besides servicing yourself ! Gringo4
I think I have a crush on Philly10. Someone that bit@hy has to be hot. I just hope you are not a dude - for my sake and for the whole men shouldn't whine as much as you do thing. vladamir

Philly10 - Not that I'm supporting anything Vick did but you are saying that you would allow someone wearing a Mike Vick jersey into your home because you wouldn't want to deny their freedom of speach? I don't think you would. The Eagles own the Linc - It's their house, if they don't like a shirt or sign, etc., they can deny a person entry. Just like you would tell a person with a Vick jersey to go pound sand. mikegdj
Wolf...the whole fiasco with TO was not McNabb's fault. If you remember correctly TO started talking to the media a few months after the SB when he wanted more money. McNabb didn't say a word for a while and then he had to defend himself. TO has never gotten along with any teammates and for all his posturing has never been a winner (when's the last playoff win he participated in? '99? '00?). If you're going to say TO was right and McNabb was wrong than you are as delusional as people on this board believe you are. As for the Bledsoe-Brady comparison in relation to McNabb-Kolb. Huh? Kolb could turn out to be an excellent NFL QB...but he's an unknown. Brady was too, but turned into a top-5 QB (all-time, that is). That is extremely rare. There are many more QB busts who were supposed to be great rather than those who weren't heralded and became great. Basically you know what McNabb is. He's a winner. With him at the helm the team has been in contention for a title every year practically. Never before have the Eagles been as competitive as they have been under McNabb/Reid. Of course we could go back to the Kotite era and start all over. The grass is not always greener... And one last thing...about McNabb calling out the defense last year...was he wrong? The defense dug a big hole, McNabb and the offense rallied back to take the lead and then the defense coughed it up again. He was mad because he knew the Eagles should have been playing in the SB and he did everything he could in that game to make it happen. I don't hate Kolb nor love McNabb. I just see things for what they are... Eilex826
Philly10 - you are depriving a perfectly deserving village of an idiot. The only things any of us truly know about Michael Vick's involvement with dogfighting are (1) that his Virginia home was used for dogfighting, and (2) that prior to his arrest and incarceraton he spent 6 months a year away from his Virginia home with the Atlanta Falcons.
