Big Chief Andy: KC, Reid Finalizing Deal

POSTED: Thursday, January 3, 2013, 1:35 PM

Former Eagles coach Andy Reid has canceled trips to interview in other cities and is hashing out the final details of a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, a source involved in the talks told your Eagletarian Thursday.

Chiefs officials met with Reid for more than 8 hours Wednesday and apparently agreed on issues like control and structure.

Today's details apparently include which coaches Reid will bring with him from the Eagles' staff. Scuttlebutt holds that Reid and Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg might not be joined at the hip after all, that Mornhinweg, who traveled to New Orleans this week to watch son Skyler's Florida team play in the Sugar Bowl, might not be Reid's OC in Kansas City.

Also available is another former Eagles offensive coordinator under Reid, Brad Childress, fired this week in Cleveland. It seems Reid might bring both Childress and former Eagles and Browns GM Tom Heckert with him to Kansas City.

The Chiefs went 2-14 this past season and fired coach Romeo Crennel. They hold the No. 1 overall selection in the April draft. The Chiefs are scheduled to visit the Eagles this coming season at Lincoln Financial Field, the date as yet is undetermined.

AR prefers that region's "burnt ends", brisket slow cooked, trimmed, then double cooked over hickory again..Goes good with "burnt timeouts".
