Bears' Davis accuses Eagles of doing 'dirty stuff all game'

POSTED: Monday, November 29, 2010, 8:44 AM

A week after two Giants accused the Eagles' Todd Herremans of dirty play, a Chicago Bears player says the Eagles were "doing dirty stuff all game."

Rashied Davis, a backup receiver and special teams star, said the Eagles crossed the line after they fell behind in the third quarter, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

''You saw what they did at the end of the game when they had no chance of getting the ball,'' he said. ''They were jumping over the line trying to get extra hits or whatever they were trying to do. They need to learn how to lose with respect.''

"I don't know -- maybe that's just who they are. It could've been frustration. I don't know what it was, but they did a few dirty things like that all night.''

And then, he added this, "I hope to see them. If they make it to the playoffs, we could see them again. We can settle this again.''

**

Asante Samuel said he would have good news in the coming days via a tweet sent after the game last night.

This morning, Asante made it sound like he was ready for practice, writing, Rise and Shine! Back on my grind. Time to get back to the money!

Samuel also sorta weighed in on the Andre Johnson-Cortland Finnegan brawl yesterday. Johnson " is a hell of a player. And we wouldn't be fightin because we have the same financial advisor. Aaron wouldn't allow that. Lol"

Whether Johnson and Samuel will be on the field together should be determined quickly with the Thursday night game. With punches thrown and an ejection, it seems a suspension could be in the offing.

Johnson was apologetic after the game, “I really don’t have anything to say about Cortland,” Johnson said. “I would like to apologize to the organization, our owner, and my teammates. What happened out there today was not me. I just lost my cool and I wish that I could take back what happened, but I can’t. It’s over and done with now. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be disciplined for it. When that time comes, I’ll find out what it is and have to deal with it from there… I hope that I’m not suspended for the next game.”

A few other observations ...

* Red-zone woes: The Eagles converted just one of five red-zone opportunities into touchdowns against the Bears. Converted just one of five last week against the Giants. If the Eagles don't get more productive inside the opponent's 20, they won't be going to the playoffs.

* Offensive-line problems:  The Eagles' offensive line, which had been playing better, struggled against Julius Peppers and the Bears. Gave up four sacks, which was the most since Week 5. A protection breakdown led to Michael Vick's costly red-zone interception in the second quarter.

* Vick's running: For the second straight week, Michael Vick wasn't a factor as a runner. The Bears held him to 44 yards on nine carries. Last week, the Giants held him to 34 yards on 11 carries.

* The challenge of the short week: The Eagles don't have any time to mourn Sunday's loss. They have a short-week game against Houston on Thursday night at the Linc. At least it's in their backyard.

That kneel down scene at the end of the game was my favorite part of the day. It was a free-for-all when the ball was snapped, a fight after every kneel down, one Bears player was actually getting a head start and diving into Eagles players full speed. I was laughing out loud the whole time, shows you the Eagles players have heart and hate to lose.

lose with respect lol sounds like they were mad the Eagles didn't quit. Call it an excuse or whatever Asante makes a world of difference, if we see them with Asante playing, I have NO doubt we will come out on top.

AS would not have made a difference yesterday. he would have been burned on deep throws when he tried to jump routes, same as before. da bears outplayed us in all facets of the game, plain and simple. it looked to me at the end of the game that the birds were trying to get hits on cutler during the victory formation. shame on them. the king has spoken.

Not sure the Bears or Giants are the right teams to be yelling about dirty play. The Eagles were trying to force something late in the game. I didn't see anything dangerous or dirty.

Eagle fan rose colored glasses. This is a dirty, classless, disgraceful organization from top to bottom.

Trying to create a fumble at the end of the game...Where a score could win it?
I think the no quit attitude was great!
    60 minutes remember!!
Maybe if Andy had gone for the TD instead of the FG we wouldn't have been in that position.
    Just saying!!

The failure of the Eagles to turn red zone opportunities into touchdowns is such a killer. We keep on letting opponents stay in the game by only getting 3 instead of 7 when we have the ability to do so. This should be one of the most highly addressed problems in the coming days of practice.

Another 2 observations of mine that hurt us (one badly):
Improper tackling and not playing until the whistle. I was disgusted with the amount of tackles the Bears were able to escape from.

Finally, when Vick threw to Celek, he seems to be expecting the speed of DeSean Jackson or Jeremy Maclin. Almost every pass I saw to him was WELL ahead of his speed. Maybe here and there he might have slipped or been interfered with slightly, but it was almost ALWAYS ahead of him. They need to get their timing down together.

Someone needs to tell back-up WR Rashied Davis (who I've never heard of) that he should be happy he has a job in the NFL. A no one from Philly is worried about him if we play the Bears again.

I'd rather see the heart than gracious defeat... I will say I prefer class over classless. Only the players know if they were acting with class or not

The organization is a disgrace top to bottom, and for all the eagle apologists out there they will be the first ones screaming when an eagle o-lineman or QB gets hurt on a kneeldown at the end of regulation...

Any team with a heart will play that way until the close hits all 0's . What if that puch made the Center snap the ball to fast for cutler ? We get the ball back . What in the heck are they interveiwing a back WR for anyway they are like kickers you NEVER hear from them
