Bears' Davis accuses Eagles of doing 'dirty stuff all game'
Daily News staff
A week after two Giants accused the Eagles' Todd Herremans of dirty play, a Chicago Bears player says the Eagles were "doing dirty stuff all game."
Rashied Davis, a backup receiver and special teams star, said the Eagles crossed the line after they fell behind in the third quarter, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
''You saw what they did at the end of the game when they had no chance of getting the ball,'' he said. ''They were jumping over the line trying to get extra hits or whatever they were trying to do. They need to learn how to lose with respect.''
"I don't know -- maybe that's just who they are. It could've been frustration. I don't know what it was, but they did a few dirty things like that all night.''
And then, he added this, "I hope to see them. If they make it to the playoffs, we could see them again. We can settle this again.''

Asante Samuel said he would have good news in the coming days via a tweet sent after the game last night.
This morning, Asante made it sound like he was ready for practice, writing, Rise and Shine! Back on my grind. Time to get back to the money!
Samuel also sorta weighed in on the Andre Johnson-Cortland Finnegan brawl yesterday. Johnson " is a hell of a player. And we wouldn't be fightin because we have the same financial advisor. Aaron wouldn't allow that. Lol"
Whether Johnson and Samuel will be on the field together should be determined quickly with the Thursday night game. With punches thrown and an ejection, it seems a suspension could be in the offing.
Johnson was apologetic after the game, “I really don’t have anything to say about Cortland,” Johnson said. “I would like to apologize to the organization, our owner, and my teammates. What happened out there today was not me. I just lost my cool and I wish that I could take back what happened, but I can’t. It’s over and done with now. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be disciplined for it. When that time comes, I’ll find out what it is and have to deal with it from there… I hope that I’m not suspended for the next game.”

A few other observations ...
* Red-zone woes: The Eagles converted just one of five red-zone opportunities into touchdowns against the Bears. Converted just one of five last week against the Giants. If the Eagles don't get more productive inside the opponent's 20, they won't be going to the playoffs.
* Offensive-line problems: The Eagles' offensive line, which had been playing better, struggled against Julius Peppers and the Bears. Gave up four sacks, which was the most since Week 5. A protection breakdown led to Michael Vick's costly red-zone interception in the second quarter.
* Vick's running: For the second straight week, Michael Vick wasn't a factor as a runner. The Bears held him to 44 yards on nine carries. Last week, the Giants held him to 34 yards on 11 carries.
* The challenge of the short week: The Eagles don't have any time to mourn Sunday's loss. They have a short-week game against Houston on Thursday night at the Linc. At least it's in their backyard.

"Vick's running: For the second straight week, Michael Vick wasn't a factor as a runner. The Bears held him to 44 yards on nine carries."
44 yards on 5 yards/carry is not bad from a QB. That would mean 700-plus yards in a 16-game schedule from the qb. He didn't have any huge runs, and it seems as if they should've run McCoy more--prior to falling way behind.

Fortunatescum.....I've heard of a BOLD-faced liar, but never a bald-faced one.If you're gonna talk trash,at least get it right! pjv13- No Chicago fan has any room to talk when it comes to "class." This is the city that has had far too many disgraceful fan incidents in it's sad pathetic history. Two drunk morons attacked an umpire on the field during a Sox game. The Disco Destruction promotion turned into a riot that caused a forfeit. Some idiot fan threw a beer in Victorino's face while he was making a catch in centerfield. Chicago fans get a pass from the national media, but they are an embarrassment to good sports fans everywhere.
This coming from a special teams player who had as many tackles as me yesterday ( 0 ) and I didn't play. joepir
Not really. if the bears were in that situation and didn't try for a turnover, I think they were chumps for giving up. They did not take any cheap shots. just dove after the ball. It's football cuz, if you don't like it, go watch basketball. TheCaptain18
I understand playing hard for 60 minutes, but if you hadn't gotten burned deep, or missed tackles or been completely outplayed for the first 59 minutes, you wouldn't have to take cheap shots at someone. Swinging at a QB after he kneels is a cheap shot. Plain and simple. I know Cutler is a tool and probably deserved it, but come on. We all knew the Eagles were going to struggle in this game, so let's just hope they right the ship with this short week. Vick and DeSean need to get it together so they can torch a bad Texans secondary. We're still looking at a potential 11-5 with this loss. Go Birds. Ship_Of_Fools- I wonder what the Chicago players that actually played in the game thought... Sounds like Davis is more of an armchair quarterback "star". mccarte1
