IS TAKING DOC TO SEE THE DOC
Winston Justice will make his second NFL start Sunday when the Eagles open against Carolina.
He also will get a chance to erase the memory of his main claim to face as an Eagle. Starting in place of injured left tackle Tra Thomas, Justice gave up several of the 12 sacks the Eagles surrendered to the Giants two seasons ago.
Justice will replace the injured Shawn Andrews, who was declared out with back issues.
“I’m not worried about redemption. I’m worried about being a great offensive tackle against the Panthers,” Justice said. “If redemption comes with it, fine.”
Actually, redemption apparently has already come.
Justice let it be known that he has refocused his life on God’s goodness. The resultant clarity for him has changed everything, he said.
Henceforth, Justice said, he will play only for God’s glory.
“Believe it or not, this year, God’s played a big part in my life. You guys probably think I’m crazy, but he has. I can see a big difference in how I play and how I approach things,” Justice said. “I just want to make the best of this opportunity.”

As we told you in today's Daily News, Jon Runyan was in Buffalo, a day after he worked out for the Eagles. Runyan also has worked out for Kansas City.
No team has made him a contract offer and that might have more to do with the NFL salary rules. As a vested veteran, Runyan's contract for the entire season is guaranteed if he is on a roster as of 4 p.m. Saturday.
"I'm ready to play," Runyan said. "I'd just need a week of practice to get my timing down and I'd be ready."
"I thought I might have some swelling with all the workouts, and all this time sitting on airplanes, but it hasn't happened. I haven't had any swelling and no pain. So, that's a good sign."

In other ex-Eagles news, wide receiver Greg Lewis has landed with the Minnesota Vikings. Lewis was released by the Patriots, who acquired him in a trade with the Eagles at the draft.
The move reunites Lewis with former Eagles offensive coordinator Brad Childress, now the Vikings' head coach.
"I think he has the ability to play all of them (receiver positions)," Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said. "Flexibility is huge for us when you are talking about four or five receivers that are going to be up on game day. At any point somebody can go down and now you have to move them and play a different spot so I think he has the ability to do that. He has speed; he’s familiar with the system, and he’s played in the league, so there are a lot of positives to him."

Panthers safety Chris Harris went through a full practice Friday after missing practice Thursday and being limited Wednesday, when he banged his knee in practice. He is listed as questionable.
Defensive back Sherrod Martin is also listed as questionable with a knee injury but he did not miss any practice time this week.
No other Panthers are on the injury report.

penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite

boxing, which he covered just long enough to lose 2 sports coats to

a University of Oklahoma grad who still hasn’t gotten over
that Fiesta Bowl loss to Boise State 5 years ago, have 2 terrific
daughters -- Allison, 28, who is an attorney in South Jersey, and Amy,
25, who works in administration for a professional baseball team.
