It figured Andy Reid would take some of his assistants with him to Kansas City -- it was no shock when Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Pederson became the Chiefs' offensive coordinator Friday -- but the staff list released by the Chiefs did contain some surprises.
Reid's son Britt, a graduate assistant at Temple, is going to the Chiefs as a quality control coach. Britt is most known by Eagles fans for being arrested, the same day in 2007 as his older brother Garrett, after separate traffic incidents that involved drug charges. Garrett Reid died of a drug overdose at Eagles training camp last Aug. 5. Britt Reid coached three years at Temple, where his brother Spencer is now a running back. Britt graduated from Temple this year, and was married in the summer.
Also making the journey west are Tommy Brasher, the 72-year-old defensive line coach who came out of retirement last month when Jim Washburn was fired, wide receivers coach David Culley, tight ends coach Tom Melvin, quarterbacks coach Matt Nagy (who was a quality control coach with the Eagles) strength coach Barry Rubin and Rubin assistant Travis Crittenden.
Head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder is expected to sign on with the Chiefs as well.
Culley and Melvin were original members of Reid's 1999 staff, as was Brasher, though Brasher retired to become a consultant with the team in 2005.
Reports indicated Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg interviewed with the Jets yesterday.
Please God, have HBO do Hard Knocks in KC this summer. They could win an Emmy for best comedy! Luriesucks

No reason for an Eagles assistant to hang around for an unsure future... Is Spencer Reid still part of the Temple Owls?...Doubt it. bearsfriend
Loyalty will be Reid's downfall. That staff sucks. Just need to add Juan, as special teams coach no doubt, and it will be a complete mess. scootch- AR isn't that smart! Adding Juan to his staff wound be an improvement no matter what position! AR will crash and burn in KC. Mark my words. Thanks AR for some good FB over the years but you WASTED 14 years of my life. desjones
beagles fans will be begging to have andy back this time next year bgwille
I really feel bad for the KC fans. They seem like dedicated, good fans but they have no idea what they're in for with that crew. brainsturgeon
He better have one great D coach, or he will have the first pick again camasbud- Juan probably told Reid to kiss off. Pederson as OC? Wow, what a staff he has in KC. I hope their fans are enjoying this preview of coming attractions.
Please Jeffrey Laurie, give us a good, solid coach and give us our Kelly Green, Silver, and White Colors back. Our color is not black, or 'midnight green'. I hated it every time I saw Reid on the sidelines dressed in black. Very disrespectful to our heritage. tomficara
Same script, same actors, expecting different results=Crazy Larry Byrd
Why does anyone care about what Andy Reid and the KC Chiefs do. Good luck to all the former Eagles assistant coaches and let's move on with our new staff. billtfla
