Akers injures heel

David Akers missed practice today with a heel injury. It seems unlikely that the injury is serious.

Punter Sav Rocca kicked some field goals, and showed a strong leg. Receiver Jason Avant served as the holder, because Rocca is usually the holder for Akers.

Akers has been getting plenty of work in the preseason, given the Eagles' struggles in the red zone.

Also, center Nick Cole did some work on the side as he continues to try to get back in the lineup. Mike McGlynn continues to work with the first team.
