Nothing gets the old e-mail flowing like a patently obvious screwup.

Thanks to everyone who took time to note that today's projected 53-man Eagles roster did not include defensive end Victor Abiamiri, who absolutely will make the team. After further review, let's give Victor the roster spot I conceded to Dan Klecko, after I acknowledged I didn't think the brain trust valued Klecko as highly as I do.

Doubt that either Victor or Dan will lose a lot of sleep over this. Very sorry, though. Counting to 53 severely taxes my my math skils.

Three things to watch in the Eagles' preseason game against Jacksonville at the Linc:

1. It’s Circus Time: The Eagles are expecting a packed press box, and you can probably expect signs, protests, introductory cheers mixed with boos as Michael Vick makes his Eagles debut. Good chance we’re talking about a handful of plays as a Wildcat quarterback for Vick, maybe some regular snaps if that goes well. Who knows, maybe Vick will actually speak again, for the first time since his introductory press conference nearly two weeks ago.

2. Oh, Yeah, That Little Dude Is Playing, Too: Brian Westbrook probably isn’t going to get many more snaps than Vick, but everyone should be eager to see how he cuts and accelerates on his cleaned-out ankle (and on the knee he had cleaned out before that).

At least two teams – the Ravens and the Jets – are keeping a close eye on the Eagles’ wide receiver situation.

The Eagles have an excess of wealth there right now. There’s a good chance they’ll deal one of their wide receivers – perhaps Reggie Brown – before the final roster cutdown.

The Jets don’t have much experience at the position beyond Jerricho Cotchery. The next four wideouts on their depth chart have a total of 92 career receptions.

Here on Eagletarian, the question was asked should Michael Vick be cheered or booed when he makes his debut with the Eagles on Thursday night against Jacksonville.

Of the nearly 1,700 votes at this hour, 60.5 percent said cheered and 39.5 said booed.

Two former Eagles now with the Jaguars weighed in on what they are expecting from the Eagles fans at the Linc in today's editions of the Florida Times-Union.

Almost seven months after having microfracture surgery on his right knee, Jon Runyan got the green light to play football again Monday.

``Now I just need to find a job,’’ the 35-year-old offensive tackle said.

Any chance he could end up re-signing with the Eagles?

Michael Vick will play in the Eagles' preseason game on Thursday night against Jacksonville, head coach Andy Reid announced today.

It will be the first time Vick has been eligible to play after being suspended by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for dogfighting. Goodell ruled that Vick could play in the final two preseason games and then will be suspended for 0 to 5 weeks to start the regular season.

"Michael will have an opportunity to play," said Reid. "We'll just see how we use Mike." Reid said the Eagles will "take it play by play, see how he adjusts to game speed."

The Eagles signed tight end Tony Curtis and linebacker Curtis Gatewood and released former Temple quarterback Adam DiMichele and wide receiver Shaheer McBride, from Chester.

Curtis worked out for the team Friday and it seemed unlikely he would be offered a contract. He was released Aug. 4 by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Before being signed by the Chiefs this spring, he had been with the Dallas Cowboys. He appeared in 36 games with 11 catches for 50 yards and three touchdowns.

At his news conference Tuesday, Andy Reid is expected to officially announce that quarterback Michael Vick will make his Eagles debut Thursday night against Jacksonville.

That was the gist of what Reid said on his WIP Radio show Monday evening, or what hosts Howard Eskin and Merrill Reese inferred, and Reid did not contradict them.

There was never any real doubt that Vick would play in the first game he is eligible to take the field for since being reinstated by commissioner Roger Goodell, but in remarks over the past week or so, Reid has hedged, perhaps not wanting the final tuneup for the Eagles' starters to be all about Vick.

Eagles right tackle Shawn Andrews appeared in the locker room before practice Monday, beaming and optimistic.

"If I had to guess, I would say, 'hell, yeah,' " Andrews said, when asked if he expects to be in the lineup for the Sept. 13 season opener at Carolina. Andrews hasn't practiced with the team since his back tightened up following the fitness run, the day after veterans reported to Lehigh.

Andrews said he had an epidural and another injection last week when he visited Dr. Robert Watkins, who last year repaired the disc injury that sidelined Andrews from Game 2 through the remainder of the season. Andrews brought up that game yesterday, maintaining he was playing at a dominant level when he was injured Andrews was asked his answer to critics who question how much he wants to play, how important football is to him.
