Let's just take a step back here and look at everything written. The people who are throwing around words like morons, idiots, "you embarass me", and what not, are those who are against the signing. The people being calm, collected with their thoughts, are those who do not mind the signing. Just shows that people who do not support the legal system are usually not too level headed and are a little bit off, vulgar, tense. Those of us who accept the law are more friendly, happy, forgiving. Just a little free life lesson I guess! lol njjeff73
thomas paine ... yes, i heard your little "you embarass me" rant the first 11 times. No need to go back to a point that isn't getting over. I am not better than anyone else, therefore I do not judge people. I let our systems do that, which they did over 2 years ago. My life moves on. Donovan McNabb is my quarterback. Michael Vick is now a member of my football team. I am not a fan of Michael Vick. He is an overrated quarterback and not a good person. But he is a person and has done his time. If I am embarass you ..... sorry, hope your day gets better. I will continue to go to Eagles games and support them from section 219. I trust my team, i trust my organization. They got rid of T.O. when they knew keeping him would hurt them and I trust them to do the same with Vick and anyone else. Your aggression and limited vocabulary (must have said the same thing about 11 times) makes you seem more like the poster boy for throwing batteries and other embarassing behavior. But if you think that is me than fine, I will say okay if it makes you feel better. Eagles are my team and I am not going to let any one player come between something I have loved for years. If you are able to toss something aside that easily, go for it. njjeff73
it is amazing to me to see so many people outraged by Michael Vick who has had zero affect on our personal lives. Yet these lawless politicians who actually do affect our pockets don't get anywhere near this much hate-mail! Get your heads out of your butts and deal with the real criminals in our society who haven't paid their debt yet but keep increasing yours! squrt57
Game .. set ... match ... squrt57 njjeff73
njjeff73, Alright, I guess I have to explain this to you as if you were a child. What do you value more, Eagles' wins or morality? Let me know if that question was too tough. thomas paine
I value my morality over any teams wins. I control who I am and how I act. Like I said, I am not better than anyone else and it's not my job to judge others. We have systems set up for that. So I value my morality over wins. How other people decide to live their lives or run their companies ... not up to me. They are accountable for their actions. They have to live with the consequences. If you are saying I care more about Eagles wins than morality, you are wrong yet again. At least you are consistent. njjeff73
njjeff73, "My QB"? "My football team"? When is the last time you suited up for the Eagles? Too be honest, I not surprised that you are one of those "WE" guys. It's only "we" if you play for the Eagles. That being said, "WE" do have one thing in common, a diehard love of the Birds. My issue is that I cannot fathom anyone supporting Vick's signing. How about a second and third TE? Another DE? Why take such PR hit for a luxury, rather than a necessity? thomas paine
AGAIN, this is very simple. If you support the Vick signing you value wins over morals. Here is "YOUR" new QB.... http://socalmuchacha.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/michael-vick-and-dogfighting.jpg thomas paine
No, it is "We". When you leave your wife and kid behind and drive 4 hours one way every home game to see the Eagles play, it is "we" because losses affect me since I have a 4 hour drive back home to dwell on them. We, them, whoever. Signing Vick doesn't prevent anything else. Vick is a weapon. If they need another weapon they will find one. They always have. May not always win but I do not need my team to win the Super Bowl every year to enjoy them (obviously). As long as I feel like I am getting my money's worth and not losing too much hair, I am happy. If people do not want to support teams that employ bad people, then they better stop watching the NFL because they won't find a team to cheer for. But at least it will give me more leg room at the games. njjeff73- Everybody, chill out. It isn't for the Birds. The signing is to rehabilitate a fallen man who never knew how rotten he was. The local humane society is on board, so apparently, they benefit from this sideshow. Support the humane society and be humane. He's not going to do much if anything for the Eagles except eat someone's roster spot. Just recognize our Mormon coach and the starting QB (who happens to be a fairly decent friend of Vick) see it as their duty to work him back to where he can be a benefit to society. Tony Dungy and the Commissioner thought so highly of our team and office (and just maybe, not the citizens of Philly), that they thought he'd get the best mentoring and rehabilitation with these GOOD GUYS. Be as mean spirited as you want about wins, losses, and McNabb puking; but, realize the Eagles are a really good organization with heart, soul, and now purpose.
WOW! If you do "leave your wife and kid behind" as you say, I feel sorry for you and your family. My best memories are watching games with my grandfather, father, uncles and brother. I hope you learn how to prioritize you life. Best of luck. thomas paine
Wow, that is pretty simple. Support the signing = you are for abusing dogs. So not supporting the signing = what? you are against the United States of America and everything it was built on? njjeff73
Wife and kid don't like football. Why would I make them go? I meet up with my father instead? Do you happen to be Barbara Moss's husband? Because when I call her to get my jersey approved I will ask to speak with you to see what time I should meet up with my dad on game day. njjeff73
Excuse me, but who are you, "thomas paine," to preach to anyone about morality? And who are you to adopt such patronizing language on this bulletin board (e.g., "to explain this as if you were a child"?) I don't know where you get your morality or your superior air, but some of us obviously believe that to err is human, and to forgive is divine. You don't have to accept that for yourself -- that's your business. I, for one, however do not think it's immoral to recognize that people make mistakes -- sometimes ghastly ones -- but that we can help them make better choices in the future once they've acknowledged their errors and paid their debt to society. Of course, if you've never made a mistake, then you wouldn't understand. But I've made plenty of mistakes, and I'm sure I'll make more. tgd10
What Jersey? The #7 Ron Mexico jersey? This is a waste of my time. Hopefully no hard feelings. Good luck and go Birds. thomas paine
